2 months ago, I posted about choosing optimism in regards to the state of Adult Swim. Well, given how strong Toonami is running, the surprise return of Checkered Past, and the several new shows that will likely debut this year… I feel that my optimism has been rewarded 😁

15 years ago was Sunday, January 9, 2011. I tuned in live to the premiere of a new show on Fox called Bob’s Burgers. I instantly knew it was hilarious & brilliant. Over the years, my appreciation for it has only grown.

With the addition of Primal Season 3, Toonami will be up to 5 block premieres a week (meaning episodes of shows new to the block.) Then 3 episodes of fun repeats for 4 full hours of exciting action cartoons. The block is in great shape and Saturdays are still the best days 😁

I feel like the reason Toonami hasn’t unveiled their January 17th lineup yet is because we are getting a run of Primal Season 3 on the block (and they don’t want to impact Sunday’s premiere ratings) Because I, for one, would skip the Sunday premiere if I knew a Toonami run was guaranteed

My Top 10 Favorite TV Shows of 2025 This was a wonderful year for television. So many great shows debuted/returned. I am excluding long-running series (those with more than 5 seasons) from this list. I’m doing so because it makes the ranking easier and allows me to specifically praise newer shows.

In the two days leading up to the release of Search for SquarePants, I rewatched the five previous SpongeBob movies. Having now seen them all, I’ve come to a wonderful conclusion: This is a nearly perfect movie series!

The Grinch (2018) is my favorite adaptation of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! I prefer how this version portrays the characters (the Grinch himself and especially Cindy Lou Who.) It’s less disturbing than the live action version, but still has emotional depth.
