#retrogaming #suikoden So, after watching an LP of the two remastered Suikodens, I've come to a firm conclusion about them. They're by no means good stories, though the second game sure does *try*. They're also too simplistic mechanically to work as "proper" RPGs.

You know, I don't understand why people seem to make the assumption that modern day fictional soldiers would be bad at melee combat. Real life soldiers get a lot of melee combat training, even today. Doubtless they'd be able to use melee weapons quite well.

It's funny, I'm on the part in Tactics Ogre where there's lots of zombies, and I was thinking, "Hey, wouldn't this be much easier if I made *two* Exorcists?"

Lmao it's amazing how garbage Zapan's ambush in Rime in Tactics Ogre's Chaotic route is. Having your protagonist and his sister artificially separated from the party and surrounded on three sides while the rest of the party is banished to a tiny square far far away is surely a vibe.

I started replaying Tactics Ogre the original in preparation for Final Fantasy Tactics. It's amazing how much more fun the former becomes when you manipulate the enemy level scaling to not be aggressively overtuned all the damn time.

Everytime someone decides to blatantly reveal their fetishes on a public channel which is clearly not dedicated to it, I sigh a little internally. Is it that hard to keep things in your goddamn pants? Lol.

Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines is very strong with its vibes, but I must say, the final level knocks that specific aspect out of the park. Nothing like infiltrating a multi layered castle with all the commandos to close out the game.

Just an ideal observation, but the OST of Final Fantasy Tactics, specifically the battle pieces, fit Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines oddly well.

The thing that frustrates me about most literary analyses of media is that they tend to read their fan fiction into the source material and insist that their fan fiction is the correct way to read it, regardless of what *the actual source material says.* Really obnoxious stuff.
