The chief of police is out talking to other media outlets. But has ignored every question I have sent him about Flock Cameras. There’s a meeting on Monday about these cameras. These things have got to go.

Well... here's a fun fact. I spent part of my afternoon downtown because I wanted to learn more about this commission. It has very little online presence, so I figured the best way to understand what it does was to attend one of its meetings.

So kids. It’s happening. The city of Mount Vernon is going to discuss Flock cameras. On July 27th there will be a committee meeting to initiate a formal review.

Flock cameras have now captured 150,000+ vehicles traveling through and around Mount Vernon. That's up from 100,000 in December. (transparency.flocksafety.com/mount-vernon...)

Research is rarely exciting, but today was a good day. A long-pending FOIA request finally saw some movement.

So the city I live in is up to some shenanigans and ignoring the court. (not me this time)

Not only is my city joined with Flock, now the county is getting into the surveillance game.

Been a helluva day

Over the years, I've sent dozens of emails to local officials asking questions about public records, government spending, transparency, and accountability. Many of those emails never received a response.

My youngest graduated with honors from high school on Sunday and it was the first time I got physically nervous about taking a photo. My right index finger was shaking. I’m a little out of practice.

I sent an email to my local council members who ignored my first email regarding Flock cameras. I was a little more direct and called them out on their silence. They’ll ignore it like the previous one. I’m at a loss. I have done all the direct appeals and not even an acknowledgement.

Hey, I’m on the warpath today with my local elected representatives. I called them forward on their silence when it comes to the Flock cameras that are sprinkled throughout town.

I spent the weekend in Lewisburg, WV and went to the Winter Music Festival, visited the Lost World Caverns, and The Greenbrier. The caverns is home of National Enquirer story of “BatBoy” and the Greenbrier was a secret govt bunker. I wanted to visit the National Quiet Zone but ran out of time.
