loading . . . Paloalto to Acquire Koi Security for Establishing Agentic Endpoint security Palo Alto Networks announced a definitive agreement to acquire Koi Security, a leading innovator in Agentic Endpoint Security , marking a major expansion of its AI‑driven defense portfolio.
The move underscores Palo Alto’s commitment to securing the emerging landscape of AI-enabled endpoints. Autonomous tools and agents operate with deep system privileges and often bypass traditional security mechanisms.
As AI agents and automation frameworks become embedded in enterprise workflows, they create a new layer of attack surface known as the Agentic Endpoint.
These agents can read, modify, and execute tasks across sensitive systems, posing risks if hijacked or exploited.
Attackers are beginning to chain exploits across AI frameworks, leveraging authentication bypasses, API vulnerabilities , and remote code execution to compromise trusted automation tools.
Palo Alto Networks emphasized that traditional endpoint protection, designed to block malicious executables, struggles to detect such threats. This gap has created a critical blind spot for enterprises operating in AI-native environments.
Koi’s technology directly addresses this issue by providing visibility, governance, and protection for every AI agent, plugin, and script running across an organization’s digital ecosystem.
Following the acquisition, Koi’s capabilities will be integrated into Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma AIRS platform, extending its coverage to AI operations and enhancing Cortex XDR® with real‑time insight into the AI attack surface.
This integration aims to give security teams a unified view of endpoint and agent behavior, improving policy enforcement, anomaly detection, and malware prevention.
Lee Klarich, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Palo Alto Networks, described AI agents as “the ultimate insiders,” stressing the need for robust governance to ensure the safe use of AI tools.
Amit Assaraf, CEO and Co‑founder of Koi, said the partnership will enable Koi’s technology to scale globally and deliver “security by design” for the AI-native enterprise.
The acquisition reinforces Palo Alto Networks’ position as a leader in AI‑powered cybersecurity and aligns with the company’s broader vision to protect enterprises across networks, clouds, and intelligent systems.
