Russo-Ukrainian War Despite the presence of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Kyiv Russia continued to launch strikes against Ukraine. What Russia hopes to achieve other than hardening Ukrainian resolve is hard to gauge. Rutte's message to Moscow was stop and play ball.

Drone War Although drones have been in use since the 1930s and were first deployed on a large scale in the Vietnam War, their employment in the Russo-Ukrainian War has taken them to a whole new level that will shape future conflicts.

Ukraine in Winter Russia is stepping up use of the Oreshnik intermediate range ballistic by threatening Kyiv. This relatively new missile was first fired in anger at Dnipro in 2024 and is known to be deployed by Belarus.

Ukraine in Winter While the Ukrainians, still in a state of war, suffer one of their worst winters, it's worth remembering they have been there before. During WW2 Kharkiv was fought over four times often in the harshest of conditions.

Latest Addition Latest addition to the TJ museum is a classic 3rd pattern British Commando dagger as seen on SAS Rogue Heroes. Made by J Nowill & Sons of Sheffield this was issued from 1942 to the 1980s.

Nuremberg Movie Watched this and thought it captured very well the Allies' dilemma of ensuring justice was served rather than just naked vengeance. Great performances from all involved especially Crowe as Hermann Goring!

The Kirovograd Offensive Operation ended #OTD in 1944. Building on their success in the Battle of the Dnieper, the 2nd Ukrainian Front encircled and destroyed the German forces occupying Kirovograd, depriving the Germans of an important transportation hub. #history #WW2 #WWII
