The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Ohio State Legislative Board hosted a dinner this month to recognize BLET’s 163rd anniversary. I joined several of my colleagues at this event, celebrated recipients of BLET member awards, and learned more about labor and railroad policy in Ohio.

I was working at the State House yesterday and couldn’t get back in time for the We are Stow Pep Rally, so I sent a few of my representatives, including Charlie, here with Spike. Wishing the best as the city delegation prepares for its final presentation for the All-America City Awards!

This is why I came to Columbus - to help average Ohioans. I introduced the Fair Claims Accountability Act to provide assistance filing complaints, settling health insurance conflicts, tracking inquiries, educating patients about their rights and responsibilities, providing referrals, and more.

From the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to Summit Metro Parks to the community parks in Hudson, Stow, Tallmadge, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake and Akron, House District 34 has much to offer on this beautiful Earth Day! Get out there and enjoy it!

I urge residents to VOTE YES on ISSUE 5 to maintain the vital role the Cuyahoga Falls library serves as a community resource for Silver Lake and Cuyahoga Falls residents. Early and absentee voting starts April 7 and Primary Election Day is May 5.

Last week I had the privilege of welcoming to Akron (at House 330) the participants in Cleveland State University’s Ohio Education Policy Leadership Program. I’m grateful these folks have committed their careers to serving our youth and families.

The Ohio legislature has acknowledged the important historical contributions made by Black veterans this Black History Month.

I appreciated the visit from Akron organization Asian Services in Action, which participated on Ohio Domestic Violence Network Day to advocate for laws and programs that help families end the scourge of domestic violence.

Today (2/11) is a great day to acknowledge the vital work that United Way does in our community to help those in need. Asking for assistance is as easy as 2-1-1.
