Just noticed I haven't watched a movie in over a month—because of work stress, a vacation, surgery, and other things. Not really good reasons not to, I thought, so I checked what the last one was. It was Sorry, Baby. And that kinda clicked for me. Like, yeah.

Streaming shows have this new trend where the final episode is shorter in length than the average ones without a clear reason as to why, i.e. a bigger budget due to more vfx work. It sucks!

The one thing I will say about the new Plinkett Star Wars video is that it cruelly shows the passage of time. Whereas Stoklasa once pioneered this genre and gave voice and vocabulary to an angry mob, he now only comes up with the reheated talking points of his inspired followers.

Despite its sprawling array of otherworldly lifeforms, Alien: Earth feels perversely lifeless. Clunky, rigid plotting & a hollow story colliding with zany performances born out of a bizarre idea. It looks the part and features strange creature designs, but so far it's a dud.
