Today marks the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, where we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Wisconsin’s Hispanic and Latino communities.

It was fantastic to see so many people out at Racine County’s Veteran Stand Down on Saturday. I really appreciated all the organizations and businesses that came out to share resources and remind veterans of the programs they are eligible for.

Legislative Democrats kicked off this morning announcing our plan to put Wisconsin kids, families, and public schools first. Our “Kids First” package increases general aid to schools, relieves the property tax burden on working families, feeds students, and more.

I condemn political violence in the strongest possible terms. No one should ever fear for their lives because of their job. Violence accomplishes nothing, and it undermines the basic values of our democracy.

While the final contest didn’t go as we’d hoped, I want to congratulate Willow on her performance in the Miss America pageant and how she represented our state with strength and poise. She has made our community very proud, and I know we’re eager to see what’s next for her!

Unions and the middle class built Wisconsin from the ground up. But now, rising costs, the widening financial divide, and the Trump Administration’s chaos threaten working families’ livelihoods and our economy. It’s time to take action to protect Wisconsin’s working families.

In the 66th Assembly District alone, more than $1.5 million has been invested in outdoor recreation projects, from Steward-McBride Park to the Pike River Trail.

While JD Vance shamelessly touts Trump’s Big Ugly Bill in our state today, the real impact will be felt by Wisconsin’s most vulnerable – children, families, and seniors – tens of thousands of whom will lose access to food assistance and health care coverage.

Today marks the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Today serves as a powerful reminder of the struggles women have faced and is a tribute to our resilience.

There is nothing beautiful about a bill that kicks millions of people off of their healthcare in order to give the wealthiest people in this county another tax cut.

Today the WI Supreme Court ruled in favor of our freedom to make our own decisions about our bodies. Thank you to everyone who kept up the fight for reproductive rights in the darkest days. This win is yours.
