I was so tired after work that I ate dinner, read for about an hour and then accidentally fell asleep from about 8:00 to 11:30 p.m. It is now 12:30 a.m. and I'm going to attempt to get a regular night's sleep but of course I'm not as tired as I should be. Wish me luck!

My boss of 20 years retired this summer, and we all already love the new guy. After 20 years of someone who hated making decisions and hated managing people, it's a real relief to have a boss who is decisive and good with people.

Her job requires no computer skills, so why isn't the time clock/paper enough? I'm so frustrated for her!

Expensive news for the library: We have to replace our furnace and one of our AC units. Good news for me: Getting a furnace that isn't 40 years old means my second floor office will no longer be a volcano in the wintertime because of the radiant heat from directly below me. Yay, energy efficiency!

Truly ashamed of Illinois being downgraded as a higher risk to trans youth bc so many hospitals are cowards when it comes to treating minors. We need to do better. Illinois law is one thing; what hospitals are actually doing is another.

Be careful with the use of the words "crazy oeople." More often than not, people with mental illness are victims and not perpetrators if crime. Also, let's stop taking away the agency of these shooters by calling them crazy. Most are of sound mind and do these terrible things because they want to.
