I’m coming to realize Puyo Puyo isn’t just a game… it’s a way of life. I got PPT2 (on sale) to support the cause and the DS games I just found cheap. Champions and 20th anniversary are the ones I’ve put the most time into but it’s time to branch out a bit.

Man, in the right hands Sega's old hardware could really sing.

Another cool little bit of Puyo knowledge I didn't know about but there was apparently a typing game. You'd play Puyo Puyo like normal and then a prompt to type would have to be completed to attack after a chain or to defend yourself from garbage.

Hard to believe it’s been 15 years since the launch of the 3DS. They still get a lot use in this house.

Puyo Puyo is becoming my latest obsession. I've had fun with it over the years but the more you put in to you it the get out. It's brilliant and was made by a genius.

Remember, the Epstein class wants you looking at the algorithmic feeds on social media.

I've been playing some Puyo Puyo lately because it's such a brilliant but difficult concept and it's interesting that the series started as a dungeon crawler from Compile. I always think of Compile as a shmup dev but luckily Sega continued the Puyo series so the legacy lives on.

I've been enjoying Dragon Quest VII so far. Something familiar with a lot of text to read was just what I was in the mood for. The length scared me away from the previous two versions but it sounds like this one is more manageable.

I added online leaderboards to my game yesterday so hopefully that inspires players to learn the ins and outs and have more fun playing.

Having the art from the original and 3DS remakes is a nice touch. This is the first new game I’ve bought since DK Banaza because of the… incident, so hopefully I like it.

This sucks. I was here on a tourist visa when I passed the N2 all those years ago.

I've only been done with Battle Network 2 for a week and I'm already back to being sad about the state of the internet. I need to jump into BN3 asap to get my excitement levels back up so I can trudge through adding multiplayer to my little puzzle game. And online leaderboards of course.

Finally finished Mega Man Battle Network 2. The graphics, overall vibe, and core of the gameplay make for a great game but all the talk to this guy so you can talk to that guy so you can get a key kind of scenarios felt pretty anticlimactic. Some maps or a guide will be your friend.

For those who missed out during the Game Cube era, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance goes toe to toe with... Everything. It's one of my favorite RPGs.

I was just thinking how awesome it would be if I could make progress in a game without looking at screen because my eyes hurt but that brilliant idea was already done with the Pokewalker for HeartGold and SoulSilver. More games should do something like that!

Hopefully a GBA focused FPGA console is in the works somewhere. Original hardware is always getting more expensive while also getting older and less reliable but a familiar form factor that plays original carts and has a 3:2 screen would be awesome.

Since I have a few days off I started making a browser version of a puzzle game I was working on a few months ago. It’s starting to take shape and be playable but the graphics and stuff I don’t know how to do still need some work haha.

Apparently there was a Mega Man Battle Network Catan.

I'm a developer. Instead of being sad about the state of the internet I should be trying help make it cool and fun again. Maybe making my own web-based something or another will be my lofty goal for 2026. That does mean less time to play GameCube though so maybe I'll just stay bitter and game.

I finally unlocked all the characters in F-Zero GP Legend. My wife didn't seem very impressed but I think she was just sick of hearing the music. If not for that, I'm sure she'd think it's very, very cool.

I’ve been in Tokyo conducting Big Business this week and nodding along in meetings with clients and vendors pretending I know what’s going on.

Yeeeeees. Finally beat Black Shadow’s last mission on F-Zero GP Legend. It took me awhile to figure out how to slam into the barriers to get around most corners because the ship is almost uncontrollable.

I've been messing with trackers a bit lately and trying to make some chiptune. The interface takes some getting used to but it's fun for a guy that doesn't have a band or a way to record tons of different instruments. It'd be cool to make music for some kind of retro throwback game at some point.

I can't really hate on the Geoffys. There's usually at least one announcement that's cool and I like the orchestra. You can't beat a good orchestra.

I've played so many GBA games over the last two months that I'm gonna put on the Game (Boy Advance) Awards.

Just finished the main 6 worlds and got all the presents and then went and watched a review of the remake to see what people thought. The review really harped on how the game is easy and for kids but I thought the puzzles were pretty devious by world 6 lol. It’s a lot of fun though.
