Now, here's a thing. We've had my wife's cousin Dave & his wife Jumana over from Canada this week. Their daughter is Julia Schell, full back in the Canadian rugby team. My poor wife is torn between who to cheer for in the final. Family or country. Me, not so much 😈

Morning! Sunsets are good, but sunrises are gooder. Something primaeval about watching the sun come up out of the sea.

Jet washing the manky old bikes that I don't mind riding in the rain. Mr Shiny definitely not going out today! Harley with a Triumph seat as it transitions from a tart's handbag sportster to a flat tracker.

That's better! Everything was set to rock hard, the suspension actually moves now. Weirdly the front is fine, all settings in the middle. The toolkit lives in a little leather handbag thing attached to the front forks 😊 Not sure if I like it. Off out now!

I bought a new bike today. It's awesome! I tested it with the coolometer and it's registering over 12 megafonzies!

Get your eye bleach ready, not bothered! I lost a huge amount of weight during cancer/treatment (radio/chemo was worse than the cancer, but it worked) I was down to under 9 stone but I'm putting muscle back on now, gruelling physio but I'm happy. Apart from the saggy skin but I'm 60, fuck it 😊

I feel so old! 44 years ago. Back when apprenticeships were 4 years.

Just had my latest blood test results. Absolutely everything (including liver function, ha!) normal, cholesterol, blood sugar, BP check, everything, which given past excesses and diet isn't bad for a 60 year old cancer survivor! I'm sure I'm related to Lemmy & Keith Richards 😊

12 yrs ago, Silverstone MotoGP. Marshalling pit lane is mostly boring but everyone should do it once. Actually starting the race with the lollipops is amazing & unfeasibly loud.

It's been a good day. I'm strong enough now to move all the bikes around that just sat there while I was sick. The Harley & CRF started on the button after standing for a year. 906 was on an optimate. MOTs booked. CBX, MTX & Monkey bike still to do. Zero/Pantah don't need MOTs. Too new/old 🙂

I so like not having cancer anymore. It stung for a bit, but I'm alright now. Yaf*ckinghoo! Tmesis 🥰 Google it 😊

I'm not fit enough to drive 500 miles to Kelty. Flights aren't cheap anymore. I've wanted to do the journey by train for years anyway, almost door 2 door. Last chance to see the old homestead before it's sold, and meet some old pals. Put your drinking hats on, gentlemen 🙂

I do like this time of year.

A year ago today. 31 days continuous radiotherapy finished. Most cancer people hate these, reminds them of pain & suffering. I love it. I'm alive because of it, plus I liked being semi naked bolted to a carbon fibre table with a huge linear accelerator whizzing around me 🙂

Good morning! Bit of.22 target practice yesterday with my new air pistol & brother who's down visiting from Fife. He's an ex SFO so hardly surprising he beat me, but only just, it's a hugely impressive accurate gun!

60 Today! A year ago exactly I was told on my birthday I had malignant cancer & needed brutal chemo & radiotherapy. I won 🙂 Walk on the beach first thing, then crazy golf, arcades, pub lunch then playing with my birthday presents. Not the dinky little antique bolt action 9mm shotgun, that can wait 🙂

3 years ago today I sold my woods. I only did it because I knew the buyers, and made a fair bit of money. I bought gold. Which has rocketed in value. I could sell that, buy more woods, and still have a chunk left over. Got some thinking to do....

This is at Mum & Dad's house in Fife. My brother lives there now. I'm 59, 55 years ago I dug a hole and 'planted' an apple core, I'd scoffed the apple. It's a big tree now, delicious (but weird) fruit every year. About 50/50 sweet red apples and massive green cooking apples 🙂

Sun's shining again. I've beaten cancer but I'm still too weak & wobbly to ride a bike safely. Grrr 🤬 I'm doing physio and as much exercise as I can, nurses/hospital are very pleased with progress, 'faster than average' going by current recovery rate I reckon mid May... 😎🌞🏍️

Had a call from the cancer unit earlier, about my MRI couple of weeks ago. All clear! Woo hoo! Beat you, dirty cancer bastard! Big thanks to my superstar darling wife, I genuinely wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for her nursing and helping me through a year of agony. xxx

At the hospital. Had an endoscopy done. "We'll just pop a canula in so you can have sedation." "Do you know who I am? I don' need no steenkin' sedation!" Big mistake 🙂 It was like being choked with a broom handle down my throat! At least everything is in working order, won't need another one 🙂

It's a gorgeous morning! Once drugs kick in & I've had the dressing changed, off out with my wife to try out my vintage SLR. I had one of these (Praktica BC1) in the 80s, used to take a lot of B&W pics, & cars/bikes at Knockhill. All manual, I just about remember how to set it up and use it 🙂

Home at last after 8 weeks in hospital following sepsis & pneumonia. Spare room converted with a hospital bed and kit, still being fed through a tube. So happy, comfy & can sleep at night, hospital wards are like zoos, nutters screeching all night. Pip was happy to see me 🥰

After nearly 7 weeks I'm deemed by hospital'medically fit' after pneumonia, sepsis, and other nasty stuff. Going home! A room is being fitted out with hospital bed etc, I'll be back on the beer before Saturday! I think Highland Park will have to go through the feeding tube in my belly!

Hands up who collapsed 2 days before xmas and nearly died? Pneumonia, sepsis, multiple organ failure 🙂 I'm now wired up to multiple machines that beep.
