One of the things I appreciate about this era of Trek is the respect they've put on Voyager's name. From acknowledging Janeway as one of the most decorated officers in Starfleet history, to preserving Voyager's legacy 800 years into the future, the writers have demonstrated such respect for Voyager.

#StarTrekDiscovery It was eight years ago today when this incredible show came to our screens and ushered in a new era of Star Trek. From the Vulcan Hello to Life Itself the series told some amazing stories and pushed the franchise forward in real measurable ways. My love forever, Discovery.

#StarTrekDS9 I always thought of this as the moment DS9 changed. The destruction of the Odyssey and the full reveal of the Dominion in this and later episodes changed DS9 forever in all the good ways. DS9 took a bold swing, and it worked beautifully.

#StarTrekDiscovery It's not everyday that Star Trek explores a new era. Most Trek takes place in the 24th century. So for Discovery to take us all the way to the 32nd century, was such a bold swing. Discovery's commitment to exploring new facets for the franchise is a credit to its legacy.

#StarTrekDiscovery In Discovery we actually explored an extragalactic star system and encountered a species unlike any we've seen before. This widening of the franchise's scope is one of the many things Discovery did to push the franchise forward. I love this kind of exploration.

#StarTrekDiscovery Such a small moment that says so much about Michael and Spock's relationship. There was a vulnerability he allowed himself around Michael that enabled her to see what was inside of him. "I think I might know." Yes, Michael, you did, and he was all the better for it.

Discovery's dedication to measurable character arcs is one of my favorite things about it. Hugh is such a good example of it. The things the show explores with his character each season are always so interesting. His spiritual awakening in S5 is one my favorite character arcs in the show. So good.

#StarTrekVoyager Getting Kurtwood Smith to portray Annorax was such a plus for Trek. He gives such a magnetic performance. One of my favorite guest stars from one of my favorite episodes.

An excellent piece of drama, but interestingly enough, believe it or not, some have tried to defend Ransom's actions here which is wild to me.

This conversation on the nature of leadership is well written and performed. Rillak severed as a great foil to Michael and helped to push her character forward. Good dialogue in a well constructed scene.

Stargate Rewatch: Before I Sleep. One of my favorite Stargate episodes, and probably my favorite Atlantis S1 episode. The meeting of the two Elizabeth's serves to add greater depth to Weir's character all within an interesting science fiction context. Top marks!

#StarTrekDiscovery Kobayashi Maru seems to be an underrated episode which I always found strange. It's one of Trek's most thrilling season premier's. The action is well realized, but even in the midst of that action, it never looses sight of character. Michael & Rillak's dialogue is also riveting.

On this day 1 year ago one of the best Trek series ever put to screen came to a close. The finale Life, Itself caped off a 7 year journey that I'm forever grateful I got to experience. The writing, the acting, the visuals all come together to give us a beautiful piece of sci-fi. Let's Fly, forever.

I don't see much Stargate love on here. It's one of the many other Sci-fi franchises that I love, particularly Atlantis for me. I really wish we were getting more Stargate. I miss this universe.

One of the things that sets Michael apart from other black women in sci-fi is she wasn't a bit part. She was the lead of Discovery, the center of the show. Some fans have said we've had other black women in Trek. That's true. But she was the first lead. Big difference. She got to save the universe.

If you're a Janeway or Voyager fan, you're doing yourself a disservice by not picking this up. I especially recommend the audiobook, narrated by Kate Mulgrew herself. It gives such a good look into Janeway's history pre Voyager. Pick it up!

#StarTrekDiscovery There's an elegance to the coda that I can't describe. Maybe it's how nimble the dialogue is, or the structure. It really was beautifully done; it keeps me coming back.

#StarTrekDiscovery I can't tell you how much this moment meant to me. There was something so powerful in seeing all of Michael's sacrifice and hard won growth bring us to this moment where she regains her rank. The redemption she earns here is pitch perfect.

Did I mention that I love Janeway? Extremely intelligent, tough as nails, and she wields a magnetic gravitas brought to life by Kate Mulgrew's iconic performance. My favorite Trek character.

#StarTrekDS9 Sisko grows in so many interesting ways as a character. From his faith, to his relationship with Bajor itself, to dealing with his own grief. A really well rounded character in an excellent series. Not to mention Avery Brooks nailed this part.

#StarTrekVoyager The dynamic between these two, this relationship, is one of the most interesting, well developed relationships in Star Trek. The way they play off each other, the way Janeway helps Seven become more and more of who she's meant to be is just so rich. I love it.

#StarTrekDiscovery The more I look at the current landscape of sci-fi, the more I'm grateful we got Discovery when we did. The lack of shows and movies centered on black characters is really unfortunate. Discovery not only gave us that but gave us that for 5 seasons and never backed away from it.

#StarTrekVoyager When it comes to Voyager's character work, Something that I see gets overlooked is Janeway's arc, her having to reckon with the guilt she felt over stranding Voyager and the new perspective she gains on that choice. That was great material I wished was discussed more in the fandom.

#StarTrekDiscovery "I started wondering if this is what I really wanted or if I just really wanted to be seen." Tilly realizes that so much of what she had been doing was to be perceived in a certain light. By All is Possible she is free to choose a more authentic path. Great character work.

#StarTrekDS9 The journey Nog takes as a character is truly meaningful. From literally not knowing how to read, to becoming a dependable officer in a time of war, to overcoming PTSD, to grabbing life again. Why he's so underrated, I don't know, but I was always interested in his journey. What an arc!

#StarTrekDiscovery Michael, Discovery, I will always adore you.

#StarTrek #TOS The focus this novel gives to Uhura and the dedication with which Christopher L Bennett explores the facets of her life comes clear across the page. If you've ever wanted more Uhura in your Trek or you're just interested in an engaging sci-fi story, pick this up. It's fantastic.

Michael Burnham. She turned away from the literal power of creation itself because she felt no one person should wield such immense power.

#StarTrekDiscovery I can't sing Labyrinths praises enough. The deep exploration of Burnham this episode embarks on is top tier character work. SMG also gives a knockout emmy-worthy performance. The set is gorgeous, the visuals stunning, and the plot progression engaging. All around excellence.

#StarTrekDiscovery When I look back on Discovery, the words that springs to mind are; boldness, creativity, and excellence. It set out from the beginning to be different, and it never surrendered that uniqueness while at the same time remaining Trek to the core and telling some incredible stories.

#StarTrekVoyager I just finished rewatching Equinox, and I'm reminded how good Voyager is as a whole, but especially with its two part episodes. This was genuinely good drama on screen. The fact that sci-fi of this caliber has long been shut out of major Emmy consideration is criminal.

#StarTrekDiscovery Discovery is truly one of the most visually impressive shows on TV, and definitely the most visually stunning in the Trek franchise, but there's something about the visuals in Red Directive that I especially love. The colors, the angles, the visual style; It's all so cinematic.
