New Eastbound bus bike lane on Broadway from Mount Vernon Street into Sullivan Station. Still needs some 🟥🎨, but this will make traveling in East Somerville much better 🚌🚲

On Monday, November 24, at approximately 7 a.m., City contractors plan to pave the roadway on Somerville Avenue between Park Street & Beech Street. While paving is underway, Somerville Avenue between Lowell Street & Park Street will be closed to through motor vehicle traffic in both directions.

Last Friday, we celebrated the opening of Junction Park! This long awaited green space includes 90 new shade trees, a hammock area, water stations, and over 6,000 native plantings.

Somerville officially has a hammock district at the newly opened Junction Park!

Tonight, starting at 4PM, crews will be milling Somerville Ave from Park Street to Lowell Street in preparation for the final paving next week of the new street layout. www.somervillema.gov/news/somervi...

October 2024 vs July 2025. We built a raised squared off intersection at Quincy/Summer/Prescott Street, created a new bioretention basin, and new small park area.

These new bumped out sidewalks on School Street around the large existing trees are such an improvement for all users. 🌳

School is out for Summer, which makes it much easier to final pave School and Summer Street today.
