Hi #pixelart and #gamedev ! Last time, I was trying out the silhouette method of pixel art for building characters. I am pivoting from that to try another method that is more akin to what I am more comfortable with (building from a skeleton). Shoutout to Brandon James Greer's video on the topic!

Wanting to make a boss in a souls like that is named: "Humphrey, Lover of Women" and if you come at them with a lady, they just off themselves immediately by running full sprint away and off the battle arena. Come at Humphrey with anyone else and like, 11/10 difficulty, no notes.

I had a short story I was writing years ago, got about 30 pages in. It had to do with what if a utopia was ruled by a Kakistocracy. It was meant to be a dark comedy, very on the nose. I ended up trashing it because reality was usurping my fiction. Reality effectively rendered my story obsolete, lol

I'm learning a LOT about today's modern gamer thanks to Dispatch. The amount of leeway Invisigirl gets is wiiild. That's not even a spoiler, but it's so dramatically polling in her favor, at all times. It's kind of reminding me of how much people leaned hard towards Chloe in Life is Strange.

But seriously though. Anyone else think about what their skeleton looks like doing every day tasks? No? Just me?

Hi folks! As many know, I'm learning pixel art, and been hitting all kinds of roadblocks. Despite watching countless videos, nothing clicked. That said, I finally found someone who was able to explain the fundamentals in a way that makes sense to me. @hanapix.bsky.social's videos are exceptional.

Hey artists, I have a bit of a weird question, gonna try my best to explain it. As I continue to work on pixel art, can I expect anything I learn while doing that to transfer over to digital art? Or is it a completely different way of viewing a canvas? Things such as shape theory, shading, etc?

We have a catio for our cats that my wife installed about a couple years back. Our cats barely use it, rarely even. But last night? I saw a field mouse doing parkour off the sides of it. First off, yikes, but ok, such is life, but second off...oddly happy about it? At least someone enjoys it.

It's a toss up between Darkwood and Alien Isolation. Darkwood has the edge here though, it preys on some of my bigger fears. The fear is constant when a xenomorph is involved, but you know you are done and dealt with super quich. Darkwood doesn't give you that luxury. The threat is always different.

Went down a rabbit hole from the discover feed which began with a Furry artist, which lead to a lot of different projects and talents on showcase from other Furry creators, and Furries are just built different ya'll. Immeasurably talented individuals. This isn't new news of course, but a reminder!

Took a bit of a detour cause I wanted to try a technique I learned from a digital art class a bit ago. Basically, you make a random shape out of one color, and paint in the color to see if you can make anything out of it. So here's a fun little pixelart doodle. Tough to do with only four colors!

Btw, I want to plug a channel that's been getting me through a lot of my tutorial sessions. @dungeonchill.bsky.social. Their content is incredible, going on deep dives on some really obscure game projects (and some not so much) and it's perfect ambience to learn to. Plus my dogs love his voice.

Another day awake, another chance to learn. You can find me in the tutorial mines. Few goals today. I have about 9 youtube videos loaded up (sidequests) to get through, then it's back to my secondary quest, working on my own isometric room, then main quest will be my main tutorial series #gamedev.

If anyone was on the fence whether or not they should get and experience Dispatch: Don't be. Cause it's an incredible video game.

Ya'll are welcome to tease me for this, but... I lowkey have been feeling more confident the past few days at my #gamedev journey and keeping imposter syndrome at bay FAR easier and it's all thinks to pixelart. I slap some cubes in a tile map editor, and it feels real, even if it's nothing yet.

Alright #pixelart, the room tutorial scene is done. He showed me enough to where I feel confident I can make my own room, so that's what I am going to be working on next. But basically, the biggest difference is the inclusion of the entertainment center. I will also be doing a different palette.

Clouds cool and all, but Tifa is pretty much the real protagonist (and the real hero) of FF7 in my eyes.

Rough morning, getting some stuff off my chest. Mainly doing this for me to help cast it out so I can focus better. Hoping I can get back to something more nourishing/productive: Creation. I can't really do much about, well, anything grand scale...but I can at least create, and so I shall. ❤️
