#OnThisDay in 1944, Majdanek concentration camp was liberated by Soviet forces. Over its operation, approximately 130,000 people were imprisoned there, with around 80,000 murdered. These photos come from a recent research visit by our team, taken at @majdanekmuseum.bsky.social.

Today the NHS turns 77🎉 We're marking the occasion by sharing these NHS badges, once worn by Margot Hodge. After receiving her visa in early 1939, she fled Nazi Germany and began a new life in the UK, working at St James’s Hospital in Leeds.
