Yeah, that'll do it. It's both fair for MSU to win by 3 but the 5-2 score feels somewhat misleading. Anyway, you can't expect to beat a great team by only starting to match their energy in the third period.

Michigan has dug itself way too deep of a hole but getting a couple of goals back and generally looking competitive is a positive. MSU just came out ready and UM couldn't match the energy after a big win.

Obviously the league title isn't decided yet, but what sucks about college hockey is that it's such a plinko game in the postseason that winning league titles feels more "real" in terms of success metrics and UM never having won this stupid league makes missing it by 1-2 pts so annoying

I get I'm biased as a Michigan fan but I swear MSU players complain about obvious violations more than any other team in this conference. Izzo works the refs about imaginary grievances as hard as possible and that clearly filters down to his players.

On the one hand, letting a team shoot 50% from three on volume against you is bad. But on the other hand, keeping it close despite that is reassuring that you might be able to pull this out if they just fall slightly back to earth.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
