Listening to my entire music collection and documenting it on BlueSky
pinned post!
Although I discovered hip hop in 1995, I begun properly buying albums in 1996. So I'm going to a trip down memory lane by way of a *THREAD* I'll listen to, and probably express some opinion or memory about some of the main releases of the year - I say 'some'. I just made a shortlist of 43 albums.

I remember seeing Phoebe Bridgers play the Walled Garden stage at Green Man in 2018. She was amazing. As I recall, I bought this CD during the festival and stuck it on for my slow drive out of the festival car park on the Monday morning Amazing album, amazing singer

Another one with a country twang but this one sits a little more comfortably in the Americana scene. I saw Kristina Murray at Black Deer Festival and she was great. This album is very strong. Slow Kill being one of my favourite songs of recent years

Tierra Whack - Whack World This one is technically an album but at 15 songs and 14 mins it runs a little short However, im all for economically minded music Its fun and if you dont like it, its over almost as soon as it starts

Gig Night Emily Portman @Greystones, Sheffield It was a folk singer in a small ish room so I thought it best to keep the phone in my pocket during the show. Great performance. Her new album sounds like its going to be a good one.

Keeping the N.W.A. theme going with Eazy-E. Its an interesting companion to Straight Outta Compton. Its no where near as revolutionary but as a fan of Eazy's particular brand of charisma on the mic, I'm quite fond of this one.

Another Def Jam! P.E. would go on the change the world with their next two albums, but the debut was strong in its own right. It sound like a hint of things to come. Still some stone wall classics like You're Gonna Get Yours, Miuzi Weighs a Ton and Public Enemy #1
