Has anyone asked the obvious questions about all these new huge data centres ? Like why are they necessary ? What is the benefit ? Who do they benefit ? What’s the long term cost ? Is it worth it ? I’m pretty sure everyone just takes the word of the tech bros that they’re great.

Today I found out a giant data centre is being built near Newcastle. The company I work for is doing work on the site for it and this makes me sad.
