Today when I did my daily writing routine, I noticed a weird habit of mine. Whenever I start to write, I change my glasses. I can't really explain why, or why I can't write on a monitor; it always has to be the MacBook screen. What's your quirky writing habit? #WritingCommunity

True, true, true. The plan says one thing, the draft says another, and editing turns it into a different beast. But none of that can happen on an empty page.

Great article, point 6 hits home. I sent my first manuscript to a beta reader and she absolutely crushed it. I nearly quit. Truth is I had not edited at all, I just handed her a raw draft and called it a book.

A deep desire to express myself. I started in art before I discovered the written word for me. And when it comes to plots and characters, the inspiration always came from midnight walks with my dog.

I think daily writing goals apply a lot of pressure. Still, they helped me find my flow on a constant basis. 200 words a day seems small, but they turn out to be way more on average, just because I started writing that day. #WritingCommunity

When I "finished" my first draft, I was proud. Wow, my first book. Then I read the first chapters and saw so much more potential. I started editing, scrapped it and started over.
