This was one of my favourite moments from last night's Mordheim game. The Thing (aka, Turkey Man) has just walked down the stairs and is eyeing up his next meal. The skaven have the chance to charge him as a group and overwhelm him, but all bar one rat fail their fear test so fail to charge!

Tonight me and my mate played the Thing in the Woods Mordheim scenario. The two Things definitely had the best of it! Turkey Man ate two skaven, while the wolfman killed one of my swordsmen.

I've just finished painting up Sandor the werewolf from @badsquiddogames.bsky.social, just in time for him and Turkey Man to travel to Mordheim tomorrow night. They will be haunting some ruins and hunting some unsuspecting warbands who dare enter their territory.

As I'm in between doing some warbands and terrain for Mordheim I thought it'd be a fun palette cleanser to add some units to my long-running 1809 Napoleonic project.

One of the Instagram comments by the creator of this game was that they used AI images as they couldn't afford human artists. I can't afford to live in a palace. Doesn't mean I go and take someone else's and call it mine. A simplification and an exaggeration for sure, but is it really?

I absolutely loved building these stalls. The one thing I'll do differently in the future is use MDF for the bases to make them a bit more robust. Other than that I think they turned out well.

Played Mordheim down at the club last night, this time bringing my unbloodied skaven. We ended up playing a 3 player multiplayer game, with me, some dwarf treasure hunters and Bretonnians. My Skaven showed surprising elan, sweeping the board. Definitely a case of quantity over quality!

I'm really happy with how these market stalls have turned out. Obviously a bit rough and ready, but I had fun making them and I think they're quite effective.

This morning I'm play testing a scenario I dreamt up. Basically it's a treasure island set-up, with option for multiplayer. However, I can already see a flaw with the deployment so I'm going to reset, this time with the island in the middle.

How cool is this mini? Dating back to 1995, this is a great looking model. I haven't quite worked out how I'm going to paint him yet, but I'm thinking of maybe making him next week's project.

Got wood? Today I'm building some market stalls for my minis to fight over. I've already built one as a test model. I'm not happy with the canvas roof, but other than that I think it came out well. Oh, I get to use my new cordless glue gun!

Following on from the weekend event, the Clubhouse is running a Mordheim campaign and I volunteered to produce a fortnightly newsletter to accompany it. The intention is to add a bit of atmosphere to the campaign, while informing people about key events. I may have had too much fun with this 😂

I had an absolute blast at today's Mordheim event down at the Clubhouse in Newcastle. Was great to meet new people and play some fun, narrative games. Funniest moment for me had to be my opponent's Skaven leader blowing himself up with his pistol, for the second game running. Absolutely hilarious.

Had another fantastic game of Mordheim tonight in preparation for an all day event on Saturday. My mercenary pirates versus Clan Pestilence. The "Browne Ale Buccaneers" managed to come out on top by the skin of their teeth after a close game.

I'm currently designing my next wave of miniatures for the Jewish Revolts against Rome. So far I have 3 new characters I will produce - Alan is going to start sculpting them in a few weeks 😀 But I also want a new pack of 3 missile troops. I'm thinking slings rather than bows this time around?

It's the best time of the year again. ORKTOBER! I'm starting a little late but tonight I've been assembling some Deffkoptors for my 3rd edition Speedfreaks army.

Painting eyes can be difficult, although these days I like to think I get it right most of the time. I didn't quite get it right on this mini though, but he kinda reminds me of the Joey from Friends meme so I haven't fixed it yet 😂

One of my goals this winter is to work on my photography skills. I really enjoy taking photos of minis, but I struggle with taking larger group shots. Once I've (finally) moved house I hope to have a dedicated space (albeit not a permanent setup) I can use so I'll be able to practice more easily.

I'm painting up a new batch of rebels, and decided that I'd convert Simeon to be holding a looted Roman shield. This was very simple, I just snipped off the dagger so his fist could be glued into the shield. I did, however, feel a tad guilty about snipping off some of Alan's lovely sculpting 😬
