Yesterday, I had the privilege of unveiling, for the first time in Canada, the brand-new LEGO Education Computer Science and AI kits to nearly fifty teachers and pedagogical consultants at the AQUOPS conference in Québec City. The kits are now available through Brault et Bouthillier.

Meet Dominic v2.0. This next-generation robot, produced by LEGO Education and officially launched today, will now take my place for all professional learning in schools, starting immediately. I’ll finally will be able to the tropical sun while Dominic v2.0 supports students and educators with ease.

Last week, I visited schools in Northern Ontario. I had the privilege of wrapping up the week with a visit to the Timmins Science Centre, where I reconnected with Antoine Garwah. Our paths have crossed many times including at the 1998 Canada-Wide Science Fair, at YSC, and at the Centre Franco.

It felt so good to finally attend my LEGO Education training as a certified teacher trainer alongside Edward, my South African colleague, in the same room, instead of doing it solo at 3 a.m. from my home or a hotel room, back in Canada.

As part of the Canadian history and geography course at Ascitech, designed for students enrolled in the dual diploma program, they used Meta Quest virtual reality headsets to explore various communities across Canada.

Yesterday morning, I was working with two teachers from the robotics club at Ascitech. We explored algorithms using AI and camera vision systems. They experimented with how to follow a course line using vision-based algorithms. We also worked on posture and facial recognition

After considerable effort, the idea of hosting a mini-conference on AI in conscious entrepreneurial education has finally come to life at Ascitech. Over the next three days, teaching staff will take part in professional development sessions to better understand how to integrate AI into their work.

Although my role as Head Judge for Robomission is often intense and highly demanding, it is also deeply rewarding. Witnessing the passion, ingenuity, and resilience of these young minds reminds me why this competition matters: it is shaping the innovators and problem-solvers of tomorrow.

Another incredible edition of the World Robot Olympiad has come to an end here in Singapore. It was amazing to see students actively solving problems using their critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and perseverance skills.
