As soon as I saw Del Toro was making this I knew he was basically the only person I trusted to do it justice and this absolutely reinforces that. Im even more excited to see it now and I was already very hyped.

Shark week day 7! We are ending our week with my most requested shark: MEGALODON! The biggest shark on our list, larger than present day Basking and Whale Sharks, but unlike them it was no filter feeder! Shark 6 is Cladoselache! Some may have noticed the rest of our finned friends have been "shark relatives" and that is because classification is... hard. This is one of the more agreed upon "first sharks" coming out of the late Denovian period! #sharkweek #discoverysharkweek #sharkweek2025

Shark 5 is another from the Carboniferous period, today its Ornithoprion! Despite their similar appearance to narwhals the horn on the lower jaw is not a tooth, but part of the jaw itself! #sharkweek #discoverysharkweek #sharkweek2025

Its only day 4, but right now this guy is my favorite for this year! Meet Edestus, the scissor tooth shark! We can only theorize how this Carboniferous shark's teeth actually worked, but I love the imagery of two straight lines of teeth chomping along! #sharkweek #discoverysharkweek #sharkweek2025

For shark 3 we have Aquilolamna! Around during the late Cretaceous, their pectoral fin wingspan was actually wider than they were long and as filter feeders (like basking and whale sharks) they would use those fins to glide through the water and eat! #sharkweek #discoverysharkweek #sharkweek2025

Shark Week day 2! Today we have Stethacathus! Another shark ancestor, these guys were around during the Denovian and Carboniferous periods and are best known for their anvil shaped dorsal fins! #sharkweek #discoverysharkweek #sharkweek2025
