This Teacher Appreciation Week, let’s say thank you to those who have helped us learn, and let’s also fight for and demand that they get paid more for their work. Jeromie will be a co-sponsor of legislation in Congress to raise the minimum salary for our public school teachers to $60,000 a year.

For too long our paraprofessionals and support staff in public schools have not been paid nearly enough for the critical work they do. That’s why when Jeromie is in Congress he will co-sponsor legislation to make sure they are.

During the ICE Out protest at HCC today, a man from Jamaica stepped up to the mic and paused. “I’m feeling really nervous right now, I’m shaking.” Events like this aren’t usually his thing, but to him it mattered to push past his fear of public speaking to say his piece. 🧵
