Duvall elevated everything, never phoned it in. One of my favourites of his is Ron Howard’s The Paper. He played the paper’s editor, Bernie, as human and sympathetic, while also being slightly above the fray of the hi-jinx in the newsroom and he made it look easy. Gonna rewatch it tonight.
