It was a great joy teaching “Working with Infidelity” for my Scottish colleagues at Relationships Scotland. We had a full day of in-depth conversations on the topic, ranging from practical to existential considerations. I love diving deep with colleagues! 💙

It was really good fun teaching “Queering Sensate Focus” for my Irish colleagues at the EBTC (Evidence-based Therapy Centre). I was reminded that it is so much easier in London to connect in-person with queer communities, and that only online spaces are available for those in rural areas.

It was profound to listen to Gisele Pelicot’s story. The atmosphere in the packed auditorium was palpable as we all got together to celebrate that “shame has to change sides”. Gisele says it wasn’t courage, it was “a deep urge” to challenge patriarchy.

Today is my 12 year anniversary of full time private practice, and it was wonderful to celebrate with one of my favourite colleagues and friends Dr Angela Wright. In those 12 years, I listened to so many stories, each of them different, and all of them deeply human, holding space to be and grow.

Last year I spent over 60 hours of my professional development diving deep in all the complexities of working with open and polyamorous relationships.

Christmas is associated with family so it can be very non-sexy. However, statistics show that the viewing of Christmas-related porn increases in the Christmas period, so the festive season can obviously be a horny one.

It is very common that childhood dynamics get replayed with family around Christmas time. Whether it is feeling like a child in relation to parents, or sibling rivalry, we can easily lose our sense of adult self at Christmas time.

I had a great evening with my friend Jacqueline. We worked out we’ve been friends for over 20 years! Jacqueline always served the queer communities, supporting gay men during the AIDS epidemic in the 80’s, marching for our rights at Pride when bricks were thrown at her.
