Long time no hassle… but you know I think you’re brilliant… is there an easy way to stalk morphology and syntax digitally in the NT, eg counting simple imperfects vs periphrastic ones? Not like I’m writing an article or anything…

I can’t spell. As I attempt to write a book this sometimes worries me. Then I remember I did a PhD on the 18th Century when people didn’t even care for consistency in spelling their names and I relax again. Still can’t spell. Shameful for a Classicist? Not.

Yes. "Valley" occurs 3 times in snrk.de/snarkhunt/, "valley of shadows" in the preface and a "dismal and desolate" and "narrow and narrower" valley in the poem. I am not sure whether this is a reference to Psalm 23. But if not, could Carroll have thought about the Psalm when he re-read his poem?
