Week 3 magic meals in the Rainbow Room! We enjoyed using different ingredients to make Pasta Bake, cutting and measuring and mixing all the ingredients together.

We enjoyed making our delicious tomato pasta bake at our third magic meals session in the ladybird room. We practised our cutting skills by cutting peppers and grating cheese for going on top!

Over the past couple of weeks the children in the Ladybird Room have been developing their co-operative play outdoors through different activities / games such as hide and seek, ring a ring a roses, and parachute.

The children in the butterfly room have been exploring ‘The Colour Monster’ story to support us identifying and naming different emotions. We played a game matching different emotion emojis to the colour monsters, even acting out some as we played.

The children in the Rainbow Room are looking for your help!

The Rainbow Room children decided to make a poster to encourage junk modelling donations to help our children be more creative. They used their skills in gluing and sticking, using scissors to cut the card and paper.

On Friday the Myot View ELCC children enjoyed a visit to the library and picked some books about Monsters and Dinosaurs. They even enjoyed helping the librarians scan the books so we could take them back to the nursery for all our friends to enjoy!

Over past two weeks the children in the Ladybird Room have enjoyed our magic meals sessions making coleslaw and a pancake traybake

Some our families joined us for our first session of Magic Meals yesterday. We enjoyed making the coleslaw for our baked potatoes. Remember you can sign up to come along over the next few weeks

Magic Meals has begun for this term. Some of our rainbow room friends spent time with there families to make some yummy coleslaw! They worked super hard to peel and cut vegetables and enjoyed mixing this all together.

Recently the children have been showing a particular interest around birds. We have been watching and looking out for birds coming into our garden and trying to name the birds we see

Some of the children have enjoyed exploring different musical instruments in our cosy cottage. The ukulele seemed to be a particular favourite!

Outdoors, in the mud kitchen we have been following recipes using natural resources to create a range of foods. We have been helping each other to identify numbers and exploring mathematics language looking at measurements.

A group of children from the Butterfly room went to our library for a special story. The children listened to the colour monster as they held the Colour Monster puppets. We discussed our feelings and played a colour sorting game to match colour to the feeling just like the colour monster.

The Children from the Rainbow Room recently went a walk to the Library. We spoke about Simoa and how we can stay safe on the roads, looking and listening for traffic before crossing the road. Then when in the library choosing and reading some stories.

The children have been engaging well with music and movement and we built a stage. They even lead the play outdoors wanting to do ‘the floor is lava’. The children have also been engaged in the block area building.

We enjoyed exploring at the park. We used our gross motor skills to climb and play, taking turns with our friends.

In the art area we have explored another couple of textures within gloop, dry cornflakes and cornflakes mixed with paint seeing what they felt like

Our rainbow room children have been super busy as they continue to experience junk modelling. They have been so creative with creating robots and adding arms and legs using some different resources.

This week in the Ladybird Room we have been developing our confidence, balance and climbing through different ways and on the obstacle courses

We had fun at Halloween, dressing up and dooking for apples in the Ladybird room.

The Children in the Rainbow Room spent time cutting the fruit up for snack. Then independently chose the fruit they wanted and placed it onto their own plates.

Returning back after the holidays, the rainbow room children were excited to see there friends again. They have been busy team working together to build an obstacle course and adding different parts and blocks to make a “slide” talking about safety.

The Rainbow Room children enjoyed going for a walk to the park and spoke about being safe in the park and on the roads.

The children from the Rainbow Room have enjoyed being outside in the garden, they have found lots of ice that are presenting in different shapes. TheTuff tray had lots of ice too. The children were staying safe by holding the ladies hand, as it was really “slippery”.

To develop our children’s mark making interest in the rainbow room we are using different resources to paint and mark make, such as cotton wool, lollipop sticks and cups.

Our rainbow room children really enjoyed there Christmas lunch. We tried on some Christmas glasses whilst listening to some Christmas music 🎄🎅

The children in the Rainbow Room have been exploring height! We measured the boys and girls and made a height chart to looked at how tall we are!

We have been playing with the football in the Ladybird room garden. We are learning to play cooperatively with our friends by passing the ball to each other.

We have been using the tyres and the football in the Ladybird room to play skittles in the garden. We have been taking turns and using our gross motor skills to co-ordinate and knock the cones over.

In the Ladybird Room we have been learning new language whilst play with the remote control cars manoeuvring them”Up” and “Down” the ramp also “Forward” and “Backwards / back” on the carpet. Two of the children made an obstacle course from the ramp, log seats and planks.

In the ladybird room we have been giving the children the opportunity to practice their climbing, jumping and coordination through the use of obstacle courses. The children have been motivated to challenge themselves and help their friends complete the course.

We had some helpers to decorate the Christmas tree. The ladybird room are getting into the Christmas Spirit. 🎄

The Rainbow children were super excited to put our Christmas tree up today. We listened to some Christmas music, singing away and having fun.
