Fauldhouse is a great community with potential and people who get things done. What's been missing is the backing to match it. Now up to £20 million of funding from the UK Labour government has been secured by my colleague Kirsteen Sullivan and me for Fauldhouse, alongside Whitburn and Blackburn.

As you all know, East Calder is continuing to grow, but the medical centre has been left behind. No upgrades, no expansions and, most importantly, no new building that the community has been promised to help meet demand. And for years, local people have been promised action.

With Labour, mortgage costs are coming down. Since Labour entered the UK government, six interest rate cuts have helped bring the cost of a typical new two year fixed mortgage down to around £1,071 a month.

Good news for West Lothian and the wider Lothians today. The UK Labour Government has confirmed £37.8 million for the Edinburgh & South East region, alongside major new investment in nearby Forth Valley and Grangemouth, backing growth, jobs and skills across our local economy.
