Well, doing a week of Night Shifts does precisely diddly squat for my modelling mojo, but the GNX is almost done - just decals and details to fit. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that I've made a final decision on wheels - the OZ wheels from the old Esprit Sport300 kit fit the bill nicely...

Sooo close with the GNX now - still got some detail parts to fit, and I probably will stick with the Testarossa wheels - at least they're 80s!

Maybe getting ahead of myself a little, but when the GNX is done, I'm finally going to get my homebrew Tamiya DTM C-Class Mercedes built. Original decals are VERY dead, so Warsteiner livery incoming...

Approaching the finish line with the GNX - some detail work to finish, might get it done tomorrow. We'll see.

GNX is coming along. Still some way to go, but it might be finished this weekend. I'll have to decide about wheels soon...

Nineteen pieces so far for this turbo V6 for the Buick GNX - I've built this engine twice, the last time I attempted this kit in about '91/92, and in the Firebird GTA kit by the same manufacturer. I don't remember so many parts, but I can't fault Monogram's ambition. They even FIT!

Thanks everyone for your comments on the '49 - I'm wasting no time in moving on to Build Four for '26 - the Revell/Monogram '87 Buick GNX. Purists, look away now - this won't be a stock build...

Might be the last mockup before completion for the '49 Ford Back in '92, I have all the chrome parts a coat of clear orange for an 'anodised' effect. This time I'm keeping it silver and shiny. Wish they'd had the whitewalls in the '90s kit...

Engine more than halfway done now - it REALLY doesn't fit together very well - and preliminary work done on the interior. I'm pleased with how the dash and wheel have turned out..

Right - time to move on to the AMT '49 Ford. It's another tribute to a similar build from about 1992, but let's see if I can do it better this time (bloody hope so).

Over the line (mostly) without mishap - it's the 599GTO! This is an excellent kit, but with one Achilles Heel. Revell cheaped out on the suspension detail, and it's such a shame. What they supplied is inaccurate and toylike. If that had been better, I'd have a new top dog here, but hey...

Back in about 1995, and with a total lack of knowledge of focal length, I tried to take the first ever photos of my model collection, as was. Yeah. It didn't go well. I've asked an AI to 'sharpen' one of the photos, and whilst definitely not perfect, I can once again see one of my old builds...

Moving along with the 599GTO - most of the body detail painting is done, and as you'll see, that V12 heart is mostly finished too...

Tamiya Jag MKII finished! Bit more fiddly than I expected, and I gave up on those self 'adhesive' chrome strips, but it looks good built. On to the next one - you've already seen it...

Well. For a Tamiya kit, this one has been tricky to say the least when it comes to final assembly. Body and chassis did NOT want to play together. But it's finally in mostly one piece. Should be finished tomorrow.

Right - that's the chassis built, engine installed and most of the interior fitted - including actual carpets! They mostly fitted. Tomorrow I'll tackle rescuing the walnut-effect decals - wish me luck...

A good Tamiya kit really does just fall together. Dinky little 3.8 six is now built. Time to give it a home...
