Since I haven't had much time lately to work on my mermaid side comic, I decided to carve out 30 min before bed to sketch one thumbnail. (I printed the templates on legal-sized paper to better fit the scrolling format.) Something is better than nothing. 🧜‍♀️

I've decided to reorganize my room and I have all of these papers from where I sketch out the scenes, but now I have no idea what to do with them. It will be sad to toss them in the trash, but it must be done. 💀

I found a $2 bag at a thrift store today and thought that it could be a simple art bag to carry when I'm out. But this bag had some strange features and a zipper to nothing. I looked it up to discover it's part of a baby's portable changing pad. 🚼

I found a vintage Steelcase office chair at Goodwill for $10. 😲 It needs some cleaning but other than that, it's in great condition. I was near giddy when I saw it there with all the other sad furniture. I sat down and my back pain went away. Instant purchase. I hope there's no bedbugs.

Watching THE PITT (with headphones), and I can't help but be distracted by the muffled audio of the voices. It's probably a result of how they film the show to keep in all the ambient noises, then bring up the cast's voices in post. That's my theory. 🤔 This is my only pet peeve with the show.

🤢🤮 I love writing. I love the process, getting into character, having complete control, brainstorming, rewriting, learning about my characters, so on. It’s like a drug to me and I’m always craving more. This AI bullshit negates all of those creative adventures. 100% garbage.

I was looking back at all of my Clip Studio Paint upgrades to see the price creep. It's always been, to my knowledge, 30% off when the newest version drops. They can hide it all they want, but this is an annual fee. The only nice thing about all of this, I don't have to get Ver 6 when it comes out.

Found a fun lil’ Pilot Kakuno fountain pen in my pen stash. Extra fine is a little on the scratchy side. Now I’m wondering how the Fine and Medium versions feel when sketching. (“Bad, Jules! No more fountain pens!”) *adds them to the wishlist*

I’ve been eyeing the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14 to use when I’m away from my PC, but my main concern is the OS. At the moment, it’s stuck on Android 15 with no way to update it. I reached out to Wacom about this. Seems like a generic response, but perhaps there’s some light at the end of the tunnel? 🤔

Saw this ad on reddit using vampire romantasy to sell birth control. Having been around vampire fiction all my life, birth control never comes into play. (I’m not counting that one storyline in ANGEL.)

Originally, my comic was to have a side story called MONSTER BRIGADE, about the other monsters living on the island, with their leader being the Monster King, a parody/homage to the Goblin King. I axed the side comic idea, but kept the characters for the main story. The Monster King’s debut nears. 🥳

Back to sketching on paper for my comic. I like the tactical, unpolished, chaos of pens, markers, and pencils at this stage. All I’m worried about here is getting my ideas on paper when envisioning these scenes. I can worry about panels later. 🖊

I was today-years-old when I learned that I could drag and drop materials into my Materials folder in CSP. No more going through the Edit menu to Register Materials. (Works on brush tips, too.) 🤯

Someone gave me a tin of mints for Halloween, and the newly empty tin now has a new life holding my limited palette of white gouche and payne’s grey.

One CSP feature I would like Celsys to add: the ability to have Record Timelapse turned on with each new file, while also allowing users to have this off if they prefer. (I keep forgetting to hit record.)
