From 5 January visitors to Dumfries and Galloway hospitals no longer have to wear masks in wards and clinical areas, as the number of flu and norovirus infections continues to fall across the region. Anyone feeling unwell should not visit anyone in hospital until their symptoms have disappeared.

Hospitals across Dumfries and Galloway are reopening for normal visiting from Friday 19 December. Visitors will still have to wear masks at all times in clinical areas and have been asked not to remove them when talking to patients, in order to reduce the risk of passing on an infection.
