Hate seeing this for teams as they enter the playoffs. Going to sound a broken record like everyone else, but the NCAA really needs to look at not opening the portal for fall/winter season sports like football until said season is formally finished across all NCAA divisions.

It sorta does seem like Polasek is positioning himself for a Cignetti type path right now, doesn’t it? Step 1: take NDSU FBS Step 2: dominate the G6 showing the Bison have always been one of the top teams in the country (see JMU) Step 3: get a job at Wisc, MSU, Iowa, UNL, etc.

To repeat: Why would Polasek leave for Oregon State or Colorado State when there (and will continue to be) better opportunities? With NDSU being a better program than either, he’s smart enough to play the game carefully and wait for a spot that actually sets him up for success.

Hornets or Nomads? Sac State bets house in football gamble — and loses | Opinion
There is no 2026 rivalry game planned with UC Davis because the Hornets are leaving their conference. In fact, only 4 games are scheduled.

Update: Not the first! As /u/andyaustinphoto noted over in /r/FCS, it’s happened at least twice before (or at least the same teams played twice). York College and now defunct Yankton College played in 1951 and 1952, with York winning the 1st 30-24 and Yankton the 2nd 25-12.

Real talk: why would Polasek leave for Oregon State or Colorado State when there are better (and will continue to be better) opportunities that open up? He’s smart enough to play the game carefully and wait a year or two if needed for a spot that actually sets him up for success

If someone can find one please let us know, but next week’s 1st round matchup between Yale and Youngstown appears to be the 1st time in the history of college football that two teams whose schools start with “Y” have played each other.

What in the world was going on in the Selection Committee's minds. Why in the word are UC Davis, Mercer, and SFA rewarded while Tennessee Tech is majorly punished? Why was Harvard treated so much more critically than SDSU?

Tennessee Tech beat every FCS team they played and only lost to Kentucky, and that gets them a #13 seed??? After the committee had them #7 in their last ranking???

Tennessee Tech got screwed over. No reason as an undefeated they should've bene left out before Mercer, SFA, or UC Davis.

Today might've been Sac State's last legitimate chance to make the FCS playoffs. They still only have 3 games with a date attached next season when they go FCS independent

Let's pretend this was just a hypothetical and Alabama State is Jackson State for the point of the argument. Since the Turkey Day Classic obviously makes the playoff conversation moot.

The challenge a 9-2 Alabama State team might have making the playoffs (despite being 8-1 in the FCS) is very similar to the SoCon's 2nd bid issue this year: their conference OOC record The SWAC's just 4-10 vs the FCS, making it tough to argue they deserve a nod w/ a tight bubble

So things are going real great on that there website eh? The public has been clamoring for a badly cut black t-shirt with a logo for a site no one on twitter that’s worth following acknowledges. This crappy t-shirt at the low price of $35 will allow twitter to print money y’all.

If nothing else, at least Coach Marion now knows Sac’s penalty issue is one of discipline not the refs being out for the Hornets. After all, Sac still had 6 penalties despite the refs handing them the game. Big Sky just likes to mix a flavor of incompetence into the officiating.

We’re very possibly observing the death rattle of the short lived 2020-2023 SDSU dynasty. And short lived isn’t meant as insult. Hell, if you want to kick the Jacks dynasty to the curb you also can’t claim that App State, Youngstown State, or EKU were ever FCS/I-AA dynasties.
