Without looking, Qifrey could sense those occasional glances cast his way, quietly smiling to himself while working on his own task. Cherries were added to the pot, along with the other necessary ingredients, and set to simmer.

Qifrey watched the blush spread across Olly's face with quiet fascination. The shy smile, the lowered gaze, the faint blush colouring his cheeks... It unexpectedly difficult to look away. "...You're welcome." Plucking a shiny, red cherry from the basket, he held it up between his fingers.

"Perhaps I did," he retorts, voice carried on a light chuckle. Qifrey gave a thoughtful hum as he considered which type of pie they (yes, th͟e͟y͟) could make. "Hm... How about a cherry pie? They are deliciously in season at the moment, slightly sour and perfectly sweet." ... "Just like you." ☺️

There was a softness to his smile that he made no attempt to hide. "In that case, I'm relieved the arrangement suits us both. You needn't sound so surprised. I've enjoyed your company for quite some time."

A quiet laugh escaped him, a soft and easy sound. "You make it sound as though I've wounded you." Sitting the wooden spoon in the side of the pot, Qifrey turned to face him fully, the warmth in his expression unguarded as he met Olly's lingering gaze. "I'd know if I had."

He glanced at Olly, expression calm but still lightly amused. "If I am ever drowned by vegetables, I’ll concede you were right. Until then, I’ll continue trusting them more than I trust your sense of probability."

Qifrey blinked, before letting out a soft huff that was almost a laugh. "I don't hate vegetables. They're considerably less inclined to try and drown me." Qifrey reached for the spices without complaint, studying them for a moment before measuring out a careful pinch.

Qifrey let out a quiet, amused huff, the corners of his mouth lifting as he reached for the cutting board. "So that's the great emergency." He rolled up his sleeves without another complaint, and began cutting the vegetables with practiced, precise movements.

"I’ll reserve judgment until I see the pot." Gently teasing, he moved around him with practiced ease, peering into the pot and clutching his chin as he examined the progress. "Perhaps the veggies could be a little smaller."

(Feigned shock, gently placing his hands over Coco's ears.) Oh, my. Kindly refrain from using such language in front of the children. (Arsehole 🙄)

"Coming, coming." He appeared within moments, as though he were already halfway there when he was summoned. "Let me see what you’ve done first."

(Oh, put those teeth away.) You first.
