Happy New Year! I hope 2026 is full of peace and prosperity for everyone in Wolverhampton and Willenhall.

It was a real privilege to visit the Willenhall ambulance hub to spend time listening to the staff who work tirelessly on the frontline every day. With 384 dedicated staff, this hub has been operating for over a decade, responding flexibly wherever patients need help across the area.

Before Christmas, I attended the APPG for Dentistry and Oral Health, where we heard from Stephen Kinnock, the Minister responsible for dentistry, and met people from across the sector.

Before Christmas I had a wonderful evening at Wednesfield Seventh-day Adventist Church for the Christmas “Joy to the World” Carol Service. The service and musicians helped to certainly bring Joy. Beautifully uplifting and such a lovely way to celebrate this very special time✨

Before their well-earned Christmas break, I was thrilled to be joined in Parliament by some amazing students from Willenhall E-ACT. We had a Q&A session where they put me through my paces, and they shared their priorities with me.

It was wonderful to join a heartwarming Christingle Service at St Mary’s Church in Bushbury. Thank you Reverend Dr Ian Poole for your work, and warm welcome to your church. It has been fantastic joining so many services across the constituency on the run up to Christmas.

I've been fighting in Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Westminster for fair funding for our Councils. Over the 14 years of Tory-rule, Councils were stripped to the bone, and this Labour Government is now making it their mission to put this money back where it belongs.

🚂 Direct Wrexham–Shrewsbury–Wolverhampton–London Rail Bid Resubmitted. Wrexham, Shropshire and Midlands Railway (WSMR) has resubmitted its bid for a new service between Wrexham and London Euston via Wolverhampton — and this is potentially fantastic news for our area.

In Westminster, I met with the British High Commissioner to Fiji, Kanbar Hossein-Bor. We spoke trade, defence and Climate change where Fiji is a leading voice in the Pacific Islands. And of course, we spoke rugby, seeing that Fiji played England very recently at Twickenham

I spent a lovely morning at the Fifth Avenue Community Centre in Low Hill. I got to see the wonderful Funday Monday Club run by Jodie every Monday from 11:15 – 14:30 which had some amazing crafts, bingo, and fab company.

I met with Ryan and Aneka from Teach First, which is an employment-based route of teacher training, meaning that people can be earning in their first classroom role while learning to teach.

I recently visited the Sunday service at St Patrick’s church, Heath Town. I stayed behind and enjoyed a coffee and chat with Father Dawid and the congregation. Thanks for their warm welcome. #wolverhampton #willenhall #worshipsunday

As a very proud and self confessed geek, I had the BEST time with the Royal Society of Chemistry. Yes, we spoke about lots of important stuff on championing chemistry education and careers BUT also lots of experiments too which are always everyone’s favourite bit!

I promised residents that I would keep raising concerns surrounding the existing fireworks legislations. That’s why I have been listening to the Fireworks Impact Coalition.

A huge thank you to Rev. John Deakin and everyone at St Thomas’ Church, Wednesfield for a truly lovely and uplifting service. Wednesfield is full of gems who look out and support one another, and the congregation at St Thomas’ truly exemplifies that spirit.

It was fantastic to meet Mariella Frostrup, co-founded of Menopause Mandate and campaigners as they visited Parliament. They’ve won a huge victory, and now the menopause will be included in the NHS 40+ health check! This is a huge win for their campaign!

Last Thursday at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Wednesfield to meet with Superintendent Martin Hurcomb and Senior officers from Wolverhampton City Council to discuss community concerns around hate crime and safety.

Proud to be invited to show my support for the work of the British Dyslexia Association. Hearing the stories of Phoebe, Keira, Afsana and other young people made clear the barriers to diagnosis and support.

I attended the latest Willenhall PACT meeting at Willenhall Library. These are really important events which get the Police and Community together in a room to have a proper, meaningful conversation about the issues that matter to them.

Today marks the start of UK Parliament Week, an important week in the calendar for both Parliament and schools around the country. Sometimes Westminster can feel very far away from Wolverhampton and Willenhall, and programmes like this are designed to connect people with how our democracy works.

I'm glad that this Government will be ending exploitative Ticket Touting. Too many people are ripped off seeing the bands they love, and it's in our power to stop it for good.

It was good to be out with the team of local councillors and volunteers in Fallings Park as we spoke to residents about their concerns in the ward and constituency. It was good to pick up some cases that we can work on for residents to improve their experience.

I hosted my latest Coffee Morning on The Scotlands at the fantastic Big Venture Centre. It was wonderful to meet so many residents, and me and my team will be busy getting on with the casework and requests that you brought to me.

To wrap up the Short Heath and Willenhall independent businesses is the always wonderful Brunch at Blondies! While I just had toast this time, their treats are to die for, and well worth visiting if you're in the area!

While on Stroud Avenue, I couldn't not pop into Clare's Florist. Clare has been a florist for over 40 years now, and heading into her shop you're met with not just the smell of flowers, but a welcoming face. She'll be gearing up for Christmas, and I couldn't help but get a small bouquet myself.

Today I'm continuing to shout out local businesses instead of the online retail giants. I popped into Infinity Tanning Studios (not for a top up myself, but to speak to the owners!). It was lovely to meet Emma who not only spoke about the offers they do, but about the tanning industry.

In Short Heath, I popped into The Dollshouse. This is a small, local business with an amazing range of beauty services, with lashes, nails, and more. This could be a great gift for someone while shopping local! Check them out at: Unit 8 The Woodlands, Shortheath, Willenhall WV12 5ND

With Black Friday coming up, lots of people are turning to online shopping. However, our high streets and precincts are full of great places to grab a late minute gift, without having to wait for delivery. I've visited lots of local businesses in Willenhall and Short Heath.

It was fantastic to visit the JLR Propulsion Manufacturing Centre at the i54 site on the edge of Wolverhampton with Warinder Juss MP. Across the West Midlands, JLR have massive sites, and the i54 alone employs over 1300 people.

Delighted to deliver the keynote once again for Savvitas, a powerhouse for women-led businesses.

I am glad to see the Government take action on bots booking up driving test slots, and the scourge of reselling bookings. These are just some of the small changes that will make a big difference to people's lives.

I was thrilled to join the Diwali Dhamaka Event at Park Hall Hotel raising crucial money for the SNJ charitable trust. They do amazing work for mental health and wellbeing, and they certainly put on a fantastic event too. A special shout out goes to Neena Julkes and her amazing team!
