My First Post 😬 So it's time to write my first post, and I have to be honest with you... it's intimidating! I can sit and write thousands of words every day without a single butterfly in my stomach, but the first few words I write here will either keep you coming back for more or bore you to the point of googling 'how do I straighten my chest hair?' ## **BUT WHY?** I struggled for a long time over one simple question... why do I want a blog? In the end, I realised I don't _want_ a blog, but I do _NEED_ a blog. I have schizophrenia and my brain can be quite disorganised. That's a bad thing for a writer, but over the decades I've discovered that writing down my thoughts is the best way to discard them. To make way for the big ideas I need to jettison the junk. ## **WHY DUMP MY JUNK HERE?** I've tried journalling away all the junk, but once the journal is put away the thoughts return. I need a living, breathing, space to dump my junk in a way that's persistent so I can refer to it at any time... kind of like online cloud storage for my brain. Google assures me that space is called a 'blog'. Funny word. Sounds like something an Eastern European would mutter after stubbing their toe on a snow-covered log. _Oh, blog!_ 🤬 So this blog is actually for me, not you. But I'm happy to share it. Maybe something I write will resonate with you. Maybe you'll smile, however briefly, and it'll brighten up your day. Maybe reading about my struggles will help you with yours. However, first and foremost, this blog is a place for me to dump my junk so I can work on my WIPs (works in progress) and decide how Cade is going to escape his predicament in _Cade Cooper_ , or work out Fredder's pronouns in my _Miondor_ series. ## **WHAT WILL MY POSTS BE ABOUT?** Which topics will my posts cover? That's a real hard question to answer. I suspect the list will look something like this: * Personal anecdotes * My struggles with schizophrenia * Poetry & flash fiction * WIP updates * My creative process * A few recipes * Some photography * Random rants Of course, I'll never stop venting about my comically oversized, annoying husband, Davido Blue 💁‍♂️ ## **SUMMARY** Welcome to my blog, Bitches! 🥳 https://baretta.blue/my-first-post/
