Working w/ a👩‍🎓 who is consistently fatigued during #AdaptedPE lessons when the aide mentioned that I come after she eats & eating makes her sluggish, but 20 min later she is ready to🏃‍♀️! Thank you to the aides who often find the "puzzle piece" to help me better support a 👩‍🎓.

Plus! This is a way to have students support each other directly in their skill work.

An #AdaptedPE 👨‍🎓 wanted an increased 🤚 dribbling challenge so we worked on dribbling, securing the 🏀 , and then moving his 🦽 forward. He advanced through levels of challenge until he was traveling through a course trying to improve his performance. From 45 to 31 sec. so proud!

So simple but so helpful, more time working on the skill less time chasing the ball!

This is great! Visuals are so powerful for students but I've had the issue that at times they can be a distraction too if using pictures of myself, a cartoon character, even random people as the questions start almost immediately about "who is that?"

1st ever lesson w/ an #AdaptedPE 👩‍🎓 & for the debrief 👩‍🎓 asked: "What's you greatest fear?" She quickly shared hers was🤡. A hospital🤡 came into her room once & scared her. A debrief isn't only about reflecting on the objective. It's about making space for student voice too.

I can't count the number of times I have shared the strategy of having students perform for time not laps or repetitions as a way make a lesson more inclusive! Great visual too Coach!

#AdaptedPE 👨‍🎓 was using his manual chair w/ consistent light turns of the wheels. Increasing the need for speed w/ timed work intervals & verbal prompting were not having an impact. Bring on the blue tape to mark where to reach for each push & the results were almost instant!

I’ve been supporting a High School #physed team for 7 yrs & hadn’t ever seen a visual posted, not even 1 I provided! Today, I saw this poster a 1st year teacher made after 1 consultative service with me. Moments like this really fill my bucket.

An A.P. came in a room I was working in to unpack an incident w/ a staff member. I offered to leave, but they insisted I stay & offer any insights. I shared a 1/2 thoughts on rewording verbiage to be shared w/ stakeholders. (1/2)

I find it works well as it can support students of all skill levels.

I'm excited to be heading to MN to join MNDAPE for their 50th annual conference later this week. As I prep my sessions I find myself leaning more and more into physical posters that attendees can see the entire time, interact with, and easily capture images of over slides. Anyone else?

Following up on earlier work for an #AdaptedPE 👩‍🎓 by making a more permanent "praise board" on card stock. After the team rotated out the 👩‍🎓 went over to each teammate to offer a fist bump & a word of praise. By the end of the class her peers were giving praise independently!

Appreciate @MrJustinLund and @marniosenbaum for the #AdaptedPE equipment ideas he has shared. Justin has a whole Amazon list pinned on his page. I finally picked up a couple of them: 1.EazyHold 2. Gear Ties 3. Slap bracelets (help students identify L/R)

I’ve been using the same #AdaptedPE expectations (yellow sheet) w/ a now 4th grade 👨‍🎓 since K. Today in his class I saw this sticky note of expectations he and his aide had developed. The things we teach do resonate be mindful of what you are imparting students.

Supporting an #AdaptedPE student with kicking and the dome cone I was using kept getting in the students way. Looked in my bucket and switched to using a tape roll as a tee and it work brilliantly! Simple but Effective!

I was told an #AdaptedPE 👩‍🎓 had a tough start to the day. As the class circled up for the mini-lesson the 👩‍🎓 reached out to hold my 🖐️ . After the mini-lesson everything went smooth. Sometimes being a dependable and caring adult is what our students need most and/or first.

An #AdaptedPE senior, who I've worked w/ for 7 yrs, just had her first lesson w/ me. While catching up on summer events she went into great detail about a surgery her doctors recommended & a new PT plan that could possibly allow her to walk across the stage at graduation! 😂❤️😂

These first weeks when working w/ older #AdaptedPE students I try to create greater buy-in by asking what goals they want to work towards. It can take some time but it's worth it when students later sees their voice matters when I incorporate these into lessons.

Trying to find a more effective ways to implement indirect #AdaptedPE services this SY. One suggestion from Margo W. was to create a shared drive and put all the resources, ideas, and documents there so #physed teachers can access them as needed. Hoping this helps all parties.

#AdaptedPE goal was to “…use positive strategies to support others…” For a nonverbal student with significant movement limitations I tried something new, a positive remarks choice board. Student pointed to an appropriate preferred comment w/ a 100% success rate.
