I got my first Action Toys figure with Tough Trailer! I haven't seen Revenge of Cronos but I have always REALLY liked this design and it's as good as I was hoping. I have a few issues, some of the plastic feeling a bit chalky and some things like the shoulder's ball joints...

Baron Von Joy had a large part in the scrapped Gobots film treatment Starquest which was replaced by Battle of the Rock Lords. Funnily enough in Battle of the Rock Lords Baron Von Joy never appears making his last timeline appearance be episode 63, The Secret of Hailey's Comet.

Despite running until 1987 the European Robo line of imports didn't get a lot of Machine Robo Revenge of Cronos toys despite them being made before Robo Machine ended making figures like Tough Trailer, Triple Jim, Baikanfu, Side Lancer and more Japanese only releases.

LJN's Switch Bots line consisted of a bunch of figures in various alt modes, although all the toys had insanely chibified designs, and almost all of them were not very good-looking in robot mode. The toys even combined for added value to variable levels of success.

In the 80s any and every toy company tried to get in on the transforming toyline craze and one of those was the toy company LJN and in 1984 (I believe), they launched a toyline of transforming robots called Switch Bots. LJN was bought a year later, and then closed in 1994.

In Gobots Battle of the Rock Lords Sticks n' Stones is voiced by Frank Welker and Peter Cullen since the character has two heads. In Machine Robo Revenge of Cronos, Double Rock only has one voice actor with Kenichi Ono however, he does slightly different voices for the two heads.

Just like his brother Pro Truck Racer, Tough Trailer also had four voice actors in Revenge of Cronos, and the two even shared the same exact voice actors although in different episodes, with Katsumi Suzuki playing Tough Trailer in episode 41 and Pro Truck Racer in 42 and 44.

The Masters of the Universe Meteorbs actually did not originate from the toyline but instead were brought into the toyline and were reuses of molds from the Bandai toyline Tamagoras although Tamagoras was much more successful than Meteorbs.

All of the Meteorbs were designed after or inspired by animals except for one, which was Cometroid, who is just kind of a robot guy.

Meteorbs was a part of the later Masters of the Universe toyline and were transforming figures of (mostly) animals or animal-like toys that turned into egg-shaped meteors "meteors."

The description of the Challenge of the Gobots video game is kind of overly whacky in the way it describes itself and tries to sell you on the game to the point where I find it annoying. Also, "Can you load the game?" is a very good question because, in my case, barely.

Teddy Savalas who voices Magmar the leader of the evil Rock Lords was a somewhat prolific actor at the time and had actually played the main villain of one of the James Bond films years earlier in On Her Majesty's Secret Service where he played the villain Blofeld.

Because the Earthrise VW Beetle Bumblebee mold was exclusive to Walmart at the time, when Hasbro made a new G1 Gobots Bug Bite they had to make him a remold of the Earthrise Cliffjumper giving the toy the wrong alt mode. Now that a more accurate mold has been released... 1/2

Machine Robo Rescue had 2 episodes released as part of an hour long special on June 3rd 2003 which were the episodes Sortie! and Machine Robo Rescue Special - New Year's Day! which is the final episode of the show. Despite being important episodes, neither got DVD releases.

The 3rd and final series of Gobots toys featured a bunch of canceled MR figures or ones Tonka commissioned Bandai to make, nowhere is this more obvious than the Super Gobots in series 3 which had 7 figures and all of them never released as part of Machine Robo.

Remote Change Robo Series was Yonezawa Toys only transforming robot toyline and even then it had a very limited range of toys and they only produced a few assorted ones. These Remote Change molds actually did get put into the Brazilian Transformers toyline by Estrela.

Daijim by Yonezawa Toys released in 1983 is one of the 80s weirder transforming robot toys with a pretty standard robot and vehicle mode but with an very weird middle mode which is just the vehicle mode on its side. It also released in Grandstand Converters as Betatron.

Yonezawa Toys used to be one of Japan's largest toy manufacturers and while they didn't have a toyline dedicated to transforming robots they did make a few of them including Space Explorer which likely released in 1959 likely making it the first transforming toy ever.

Of the Gobots merchandise makers, Playtime was one of the better ones, they made a total of 9 pieces of Gobots merch, while not all of them transformed, there were still 6 figures that did have some form of transformation although not all of the transformations were substantial.

Desk-Bot made by Arco was one of the bigger Gobots figures although it had no articulation at all or transformation but instead was made up of 9 components that all were desktop accessories, and those were the accesory holder, a flashlight, a pencil holder, an eraser,... 1/2

In my opinion the figure where the Action Toys aesthetic shines the brightest is Battle Robo which is because imo he's one of the most boring of the original Machine Robo figures, having an extremely simple transformation and alt mode that doesn't resemble anything... 1/2

Mutante is arguably the most famous of the Gobots / Machine Robo bootlegs with it being pretty popular in Brazil. The toyline had 19 toys but when you remove duplicates in new colors, the line goes all the way down to 11. There was a revival in 1999 that got rid of the diecast.

Eagle Robo (Leader-1) had a prototype figure shown off in some catalogue pictures with the most notable differences being a the prototype having different legs from the released toy but more noticeable is the different head design which would've been bigger and had a blue visor.

Classic Robo (Gobots Good Knight) name would suggest the car he turns into as an old fashioned classic car however the actual car the turns into, the Phaeton Series 3 was made only 7 years before the toy came out by Excalibur a car company that made old fashioned styled cars.

As far as we know the only official Gobots media that was brought over to Sweden were two collections of episodes on VHS, one with Renegade Rampage part 1 and 2 and Renegade Alliance and another will all 5 episodes of the Gobotron Saga. I'd imagine this wasn't the only... 1/2
