The show design for Turbo gave the character a green windshield chest instead of the toy-accurate blue. This was done for seemingly no reason as no prototype has this color scheme. The only toy that recreates this is X-Transbots Sonic with no official toy having it.

The Last Magic Man episode of Gobots had Tinotchka an immensely powerful wizard who was threatened with death by Cy-Kill to work for him. At the end of the episode he dies and doesn't seem too fussed about the matter for someone who was so concerned about death earlier.

Both Boulder and Slimestone used their toy prototype color schemes for the Movie design. This is most obvious for Boulder because of the black helmet and brownish arms. For Slimestone it is most obvious because the toy design is only silver while the prototype... 1/2

Bent Wing turns into a Vought F4U Corsair aircraft and this is also the origin of her name with one of the nicknames for the Corsair during its service being "Bent Wing Bird."

Scales' design in the Renegade Rhetoric collage image is supposedly based on Beast Machine Thrust for the body and G1 Rippersnapper for the head. I say supposedly cause its really hard to tell imo on the picture but considering Scales' design and the restriction of using... 1/2

Something I think that is really neat is in Machind Robo Rescue the character Ken Minami presents a lot more femininely than most male characters in the show even into adulthood and this isn't portrayed overtly as being weird or wrong but instead just how they are as a person.

This is the last time Spoiler ever shows up canonically btw in order of the timeline with every episode he's in taking place before this so this very well could've actually killed him.

Shinkansen Robo was one of the only figures released in Machine Robo to have multiple color schemes, a blue and a green one. It is also one of the only ones to receive a version 2 with New Shinkansen Robo which was a completely new mold but based on the same train... 1/2

Despite being released as part of Machine Robo at the same time as Gobots' prime, Combat Buggy was one of only 18 figures never brought over to Gobots. While most of the others have semi-reasonable explanations for why, there are none for Combat Buggy especially because... 1/2

While all of the Metomorphs toys had different molds, they all share basic engineering similarities with the bug limbs becoming arms and the legs unfolding from within. There are exceptions like the cockroach which had the hind legs become the legs since they were big enough.

The Legend of Nara Metomorphs subline didn't last very long, like the rest of the toyline, and only had 4 figures released as part of it. However, all 4 of them were completely different molds and animals. They were a cockroaxh, a dung beetle, a wasp, and a spider.

Legend of Nara: Battling Bugs was a line of toys from MGA Entertainment starting in the early 2010s. Most of the line consisted of well... moving Battling Bugs but there was also a subline called Metomorphs which were transforming figures of bugs.

Funnily enough this kind of happened with the Machine Robo Build Series figures by Megahouse which had nearly identical transformations to the original Machine Robo toys minus some very minor changes made for the sake of modern levels of articulation.

The lack of Machine Puzzler in Revenge of Cronos is even more confusing not just because of there being an existing animation model but also because the box set was rereleased for Revenge of Cronos' toyline and considering its price as more of a big ticket item relative to... 1/2

Interestingly despite it not being her most iconic design, the Transformers Timelines Collage Picture's design of Spay-C is based on her Super Gobots appearance rather than he regular toy/show design. The most of obvious examples of this are the head having a mask and a visor.

The Hans-Cuff / Police Car Robo also had a bunch of knockoffs with a similar variety of color schemes with there being 3 Mutante knockoff, one in close approximation to the original, a blue one, and red one. There was also a Mr-Machinerobo bootleg that looked like the original.

I've previously mentioned that Tork's toy doesn't match the color scheme of the show but for some reason and I don't know how, I didn't realize that the reason was because the blue color scheme of the show is based on Ford Ranger Zenmai Kahen Winch Robo color scheme... 1/2

Terror in Atlantis was one of the few episodes to not heavily feature Turbo. In fact, the episode was probably rewritten to give Turbo's role to Tork, a new toy at the time with his dialogue while gighting Crasher being very Turbo coded and him being paired with Scooter as a duo.

According to Twitter user @ptsinclair06 there was a revival of Machine Robo pitched to Bandai where the toys would've been the same designs as the originals with modern articulation and engineering like Missing Link although it was pitched before that. Sadly these weren't made.

Zeemon can't transform and this isn't explained until the episode Et Tu Cy-Kill where it is established that he lost the ability but could get it back any time he wants but decides not to do so as punishment for his failure.

Toy Story 2 Movin' Morphers also had a combiner vehicle which was made up of 3 modules, module 1 and 3 were different toys of Buzz while module 2 was a figure of Zurg. The combination design sure looked like a combination of 3 toys that weren't meant to combine.

The most unique of the Movin' Morphers was RC since they're the only character that was already a vehicle, to get around this Mattel who made these toys made the character turn into a robot rather than the other way around. To speak on the quality of said robot mode, it was meh.

Toy Story 2 had a massive toyline leading up to its release and part of it was Movin' Morphers, as the name would suggest the toys in the line transformed from the iconic characters into sometimes relevant alt modes but sometimes non-sensical alt modes for the character.

Here is every toy in Transformers that is a reference to Gobots but not the same character: 1. G2 Gobots shares the name of the brand. 2. Armada Leader-1 shares the name of the character from Gobots. 1/3

In his single episode appearance for whatever reason Steamer has two different vehicle mode designs despite that being more work than just having one model design for his alt mode.

Battle Armor 5 (GB Courageous) only showed up in one episode of the Revenge of Cronos anime and wasn't particularly memorable in it either. Despite that the toy had a lot of advertising, mainly ala 3 minute ad dedicated to the toy that was better animated than the actual anime.

Along with having a similar basic concept, sharing voice actors, sharing writers, and having their own theatrical movies in the same year, both Transformers and Gobots had exactly 65 episodes before releasing their movie in 1986.

Major Mo never appeared in any concurrent Gobots media, not until Renegade Rhetoric. Similarly, his Machine Robo equivalent Fairlady Robo never appeared in any media whatsoever, making it one of the few molds to never show up in either Gobots or Machine Robo media.

There was a prototype of Devil Satan Six shown off in catalogues with a very different headsculpt than the one on the released figure. The reason for the change is unknown but likely very mundane.

It seems that after multiple failures Cy-Kill has gotten lazier with his evil plots and is now just having Herr Fiend pretend to be part of the Guardian Council, and it seems to be working.

The packaging for the Devil Satan Six figures gave them names, they were Gillhead, Barabat, Death Claw, Groguillon, Eyegos, and Blugoda. However the anime took the names away and only referred to them as numbers, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 respectively.

The Ridevendor is a vehicle in Kamen Rider OOO that could combine with Toracandroid, a "tiger," which was recreated for the toys. In the show and toy, Ridevendor can turn into a vending machine. Picture 1 from CollectorShuki on YouTube:

One of the main gimmicks of the Candroid figures was that the first step of all the figures in their transformation process was pulling on the pull tab of the can before the rest of the figure could be transformed, which is just like how they work in the TV show.

Kamen Rider Candroid was a line of toys of characters from Kamen Rider OOO. The toys were made to be cans that transformed into animals. The toys were released in 2010 to tie in with the show being released and a total of 9 figures in the toyline.

The Major Mo / Fairlady Robo mold has three different color schemes, the Gobots one, the Machine Robo one, and the Robo Machine one which looks very nearly identical to the Gobots one but upon closer inspection is actually made of a SLIGHTLY darker red plastic and new stickers.

Double Machine Robo Drill Heli had a prototype with the drill vehicle and torso in more pastel and bright colors when the final toy had a darker green color scheme. The anime's design for the character is based on the same prototype which is very obvious in some specific frames.

The original 3 Double Machine Robo were all brought over to Robo Machine as the Combinators, both Jet Transer and Heli Transer were identical with new sticker sheets but for some reason Tank Transer's color scheme was changed, this was the only 1 of the 3 to be changed that much.

According to DiaBrave Sid, there was a new Limousine Robo figure designed as part of the Action Toys line by Cassy Sark (a free lance designer for multiple third-party TF companies) but was never produced. I swear to God this is my 13th reason why, Jesus fuck.

For the first time ever Challenge of the Gobots is streaming on Tubi meaning it's now available for free and not locked behind either piracy or a series of out of print DVDs. This was probably also why it was removed off The Internet Archive months ago.

Screw Head has 3 different models for the show and one of them is heavily toy based, featuring more defined cheeks. This design face design only appeared in the pilot miniseries and once in the episode Cy-Kill's Cataclysmic Trap but on a different body from the miniseries design.
