FRANKENHOOKER (1990) What exactly is Franken's plan after he rebuilds his fiancé (who's just a head) using body parts from seven different sex workers? Put the seven back together with each missing 1/7th of their body? Or is he going to make six complete and throw the last head away? #365Movies 26

RESURRECTION (2025) Okay, I was not prepared for how "out there" this is. Immortality has been gained at the expense of dreaming, so now dreaming is illegal and if you do it people hunt you down by going into your dreams. I definitely got lost in this one... #365Movies 25

FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER (2025) Jim Jarmusch is such a tease! He gives us three stories about families with fully-realized characters but we only get brief glimpses into each of their lives. They're full of mysteries that we never get answers on—it's all left up to our imagination. #365Movies 21

RED SPIRIT LAKE (1993) A woman inherits her aunt's cabin (and troubles) after she is murdered for refusing to agree to a land deal. Also, the entire area is haunted by forest spirits that are believed to be angels by some fanatics. So, she's got a lot going on. #365Movies 20

THE LONGEST YARD (1974) I think it's pretty rare to find redemption in prison (the system just isn't set up for that) but that's exactly what Burt Reynolds gets in this (fictional) story about a prisoners facing their guards in a football match. #365Movies 19

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT COSBY (2022) It's natural to have mixed feelings about a man who did so much good in his life & so many bad things. But the most insightful point this documentary makes is that he did those good acts publicly to cover up the awful things he was doing in private. #365Movies 18

LENNY BRUCE: SWEAR TO TELL THE TRUTH (1998) Great doc about the last stand-up comic to be persecuted in America. Toady there's a legion of comics whining about their free speech rights at the slightest sign of criticism but not a single one has been arrested for expressing themselves. #365Movies 17

CASTRATION MOVIE ANTHOLOGY I: TRAPS (2024) The first part of this epic is divided into two chapters, each following a different person with a penis: one failing to be a man (Incel Superman) and the other succeeding as a woman, despite difficult circumstances (Traps Swan Princess). #365Movies 16

THE PLAGUE (2025) Kids can be so cruel. This takes place at a youth water polo camp and gives a very realistic depiction of social jockeying/bullying. Good, but hard to watch. #365Movies 8

NO OTHER CHOICE (2025) Is this my favorite Park Chang-wook? No. But, is it still really good? YES! A dark comedy where an unemployed man finds a creative way to eliminate the competition for the job he's applying for. #365Movies 7

MANIAC (1980) I can't believe that Joe Spinell (a man who looks like a sewer rat) can just knock on the door of Caroline Munro (one of the most gorgeous women ever) and be, like, "I saw you in Central Park, can I come in?" No explanation of how he knows where she lives, and get let in! #365Movies 6

YEAST (2008) It's kinda crazy that Mary Bronstein was just out there sprinkling future top-tier directors into her movie (Greta Gerwig, Josh Safdie, Benny Safdie... is Sean Price Williams pushing it?) before any of them had even made a feature. TWO WONDROUS TIGERS (1979) After becoming instant besties, their bromance is threatened by beautiful woman. But in order to win her hand, one of then will have to beat up her brother, and also her sister, and her as well (family tradition). #365Movies 4

THE REVOLT OF MAMIE STOVER (1956) Jane Russell tries to navigate love while becoming a war profiteer/human trafficking victim. She's a pretty complex character but Raoul Walsh was never one to shy away from morally grey characters. #365Movies 451

JOHNNY O'CLOCK (1947) No-nonsense police inspector Lee J. Cobb is on the hunt for dapper gangster Dick Powell in this noir about crooked cops and mob-run gambling dens. I'm glad that they immediately point out that Johnny O'Clock is a silly name (and probably made-up). #365Movies 449

TESS OF THE STORM COUNTY (1914) A poor girl's father is framed for murder after going up against a wealthylandowner, inspiring a religious awakening (and faith struggle) in her. This was so popular that Mary Pickford revisited the role eight years later for the remake. #365Movies 448

FUCK MY SON! (2025) One bad mother kidnaps a woman so that her hideously deformed son (Steve Little in a Troma-level disgusting bodysuit) can finally have a mate. Wildly offensive (positive)! #365Movies 447

BLAST OF SILENCE (1961) This late-period noir gets extremely dark as it puts you in the head of a contract killer while he justifies his profession to himself in a desperate attempt to subdue his conscience. This might be the most hard-boiled narration that I've ever hear. #365Movies 446

DAVID AND LISA (1962) Two teenagers connect and grow after being institutionalized for severe mental health issues. I don't think the psychiatric theories would hold up today, but it's still compelling as a story—and I loved the dream sequences! #365Movies 445
