I got Rudy a cooling coat. We’re having a warm spell, so it got its inaugural run on our pre-dinner walk tonight. Rudy seemed more comfortable than he usually is in the hot, sunny weather. So I deem it a success!

Fantastic afternoon at the Hummingbird Open House learning more about the Methow Descendants. Hummingbird is owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and offers a place where the Methow Descendants can preserve and share their traditional knowledge.

I unfurled our sunshade and found this little bat asleep in it. I needed to move him or he’d die in the sun. I got my gardening gloves and picked him up. He woke up and flew away as soon as I got him out the front door. Cute little fellow! I did not have bat rescue on my bingo card for today!! 🦇

We escaped the winds, but the bomb cyclone dumped over a foot of snow on us. And it’s still coming down. We lost power briefly overnight. It’s back now with the occasional blip.

I might be a near-cripple, but I can still bake bread. The gimp managed to turn out a very nice spelt-rye combo today.
