The Monster Hunter language dictionary is nearing the point of being updated with the spreadsheet. All words have: IPA pronunciation English translation Japanese translation Male and female audio Part of speech categorization There is also a simple grammar section.

!!!! HUGE MH LANGUAGE UPDATE !!!! Currently working on an online dictionary so that everyone can look up Highlander words, phrases, and grammar. It will be in English and Japanese. This will hopefully be finished by Wilds. I will link it once it is updated with the current 700+ word lexicon.

Monster Hunter Language Word Validation Types: As I wrap up the validation this month, I hope to clarify the types of validations I've come across, some stronger than others. Ultimately, I wanna be transparent on how I'm deciding on what means what. The English translations are for searching.

Thanks to audio from @zugzwangmh.bsky.social , I can confirm the Monster Hunter language used in Wilds is brand new. I'm not a fan of this since Guild members have no business speaking that. Capcom shouldn't be afraid of using languages from past games to cement it in the world by region.

Hinoa always giggles after her line "いい天気ですね" so I was able to find the same line in the Monster Hunter language and confirm a few new words.

My final stance on the MHL for Sunbreak, one of the few versions that had a simpler change than others, maintaining its Japnese influence and sounds. This is my groundwork for what will soon be the completed language of the Yukumo, Pokke, and Kamura people.

The writing in Stories 2's encyclopedia was similar yet different to what we see in 4U. I can only assume it is the writing system of the Hakum natives along with everyone else on the southern island except for the guild members in Gildegaran. But something about it makes me curious.

The one and only time I remember seeing actual written text in Monster Hunter 1's Kokoto. While this screenshot is from GU, I've gone back to MH1 to see if the writing is there too- and it is. Its never used again and is a remnant of something prior to Capcom deciding how they'd handle language.

Wrote a script based on the writing in Guildmarm's book in 4U. I worked out almost all the letters which surprisingly is actually going by just an alternative version of the roman alphabet. Even more so, these examples are using Guild Standard words, the likely language of MH4U and World characters.
