Why don't microwaves have a grace periods on the beeping at the end? It should wait like 5 seconds before it beeps once it's done, and not beep if the door opens during that grace period. So many relationships with the stop-at-1-second people would be saved.

Quitting programming as a career right now because of LLMs would be like quitting carpentry as a career thanks to the invention of the table saw.

LLMs are not going to replace programmers, because its just an interpreter, and their generative capabilities are always going to be derivative. LLMs are, however, going to change which programmers rise to the top. Creativity, critical thinking, and a knack for UX will stand out.

LLMs aren't going to make programmers obsolete. They are, however, going to make programmers who are not using LLMs obsolete. It's just another disruptive technology like shooting movies on digital vs. film, practical vs. CGI in special effects, or photoshop vs. stencils in graphic design.
