My grandmother was one of 22 (no twins). Today that number is down to 3 with the loss of the youngest sister. My grandmother raised her at 10 years old since my great grandmother was too busy running the house and a farm.

Reminder to self. I’m not dying, I just ate a giant roasted beet for supper. My late uncle once ate so many pickled beets that he thought he was going to die when he went to the bathroom the next day. Underwent lots of tests to find out it was just the colour from the beets. 🫜

This giant beet was calling my name from the garden. It’s currently roasting in the oven while potatoes and carrots are boiling on the stovetop. No idea what my protein will be but something should strike my interest soon. 🌱
