Day 4 of counting down my favorite photos of 2025. #57 this photo is a lesson in always having your camera with you. My kids just wanted to go for a car ride out to the causeway. This cormorant was nice and close and I could park and snap a few shots out the window.

Day 3 of my countdown to 2026. #58 the light was low in the pines, in the heart of last winter. Not ideal for photos, but this group of Kinglet borbs was very chill with me and let me hangout with them for quite a while.

The very elusive Virginia Rail. This one just showed up next to me while I was hoping to catch a glimpse of a Sora I could hear hiding in the cattails. Both birds are often heard and not seen. I was lucky enough to get eyes on both in the early morning sitting next to the water.🪶

It's extra satisfying when you find a hummer in the middle of the forest, vs at the feeder 😁🪶
