4/4 Absurdly, in @tdcj.bsky.social, this is the standard treatment of someone indicating suicidal ideation, only SOS designation requires no mental health monitoring, allowing the torture to go undocumented and unmonitored.

3/? Another form of torture @tdcj.bsky.social is euphemistically called SOS, which stands for security observation status. This is basically locking someone with only a paper robe generally in cold cell torture.

2/? That practice, which we continue to get complaints about even though the agency -- after claiming it wasn't against policy because there was no policy, ignoring the inhumanity of the treatment -- claimed it was no longer practiced.

1/? These issues are not limited to Rikers, but most likely happen in nearly every prison and jail. In Texas prisons (@tdcj.bsky.social), one practice includes locking people in 3 x 3 foot cages for days at a time.
