In my RPG be tinkering away at a stamina system for physical attacks. Debating on adding the stamina system to enemys to but I already have a stagger system for them and feel like that would be way to many systems...we will see

Decided to work on the menu and take a stab at at an idea I had for a bit. When the player access the menu the camera will just zoom on to the player so when you equip stuff and heal you will see it..to be continued

So I made the choice as much as I want to make my game in 3d I decided to move the project back to 2d. The time/scope would be so much less time in 2d and I really want to finish this project Once I am at a good place with battle system I will move to art for awhile

This week I have been giving
#godot
some attention. For 2D stuff it's perfect! Way better then Unity but there are some engine choices that are just weird to me but I guess it because I have used
#unity
forever

So I made of list of goals before I can let some people test out and get some feedback. Once I have a build Ill probably put it up on itch for people to test out then I can start iterating on and then adding more.

Decided to join a game jam this weekend. The prompt was Horse and the limitation was one handed controls. So you will be a horse and shots at enemys and gains upgrades. That's the idea right now lol

Another thought I had, I know I will being working on the main game forever and what if I map the world out and build the game out by chapters like a book and release it that way. Each chapter introduces new mechanics

So I kind of had an idea for a smaller game inspired by
#frieren
but I want to keep it in the style of the main game. So whatever I learn by making this game will help the main but I'm going to keep this one a lot more simpler

Was really thinking there to just switch to
#godot
for this project because AI and stuff but all game engines have there problems. This game will be cool and I love working on it. Does Unity make bad choices yes and I'm sure other engines do to

Unity does have really cool developers/games like
@tianipixel.bsky.social
just look at this and
#noai
see all this Ai stuff has gotten me think a lot about my own development and where to take it. Continue with Unity or switch to godot. 🤷
