Even in the new comics the helicopter cries out for a Haslab lol

I’m not really playing the g eternal game right now but I popped on to attempt to get these two. Failed of course lol but might actually play the event so I could at least get the SSR version of noir

Both are in the 1/18 scale and a clone trooper is supposedly 6 feet tall. So this is actually accurate.

if there’s a thing that’s disappointing, the new Gravis is oddly small. Though I don’t know if the special grey edition I painted here is actually just taller anyway. I guess I won’t know until I get the salamanders intercessor

Out of curiosity I pulled out one of my older Gravis figures, and while I do still like them Rau’ros is night and day. Sadly the backpacks aren’t interchangeable.

As chase figures go, I am delighted by the Dire troopers. And I’m quite interested to see what they make next for the line.

The spooky hands fit as well. Though word of caution they were not entirely happy to do so, and I did not push the peg in the whole way.

For whatever reason I thought the crossbow was changed but it’s just grey lol

And of course it can fit the snake head which is pretty fun lol

Hilariously the Davy jones head can scuttle around creepily on its own like Krang lol

I had been about to put the classic head on and was commenting to myself that it’s too bad they didn’t make the visor translucent when I noticed that they have in fact. But similar to the viper whose quad eyes should glow there’s just something that seems to prevent them from shining.

Dire troops.

Black added to pack and knees. Probably some touch ups to do to it but I’m tired now lol

Both Dawn and Overkill ship dates were changed to the 16th. I doubt they will but it’s nice to know I’ll probably see them by July

So things that always get painted on Joytoy salamander figures. The power pack, kneecaps and probably some detail touch ups. And then I will add some flame details as well if I’m feeling up to it.

it being Yo joe June and much of my hobby room being a disaster as it dries out, I brought BBQ to keep me company. He always cheers me up.

Nosecones time in the spotlight is over quickly but he shone brightly.

So basically all new figure. Has new shoulders too which is excellent, and light piping! Which isn’t G2 transformer good, but is good enough I may not paint his eyes orange lol

Rau’ros arrives.

Brubaker wrote probably the best run of captain America ever. Solid super spy noir stuff. And then he’s got secret avengers and proves that he may be able to out wacky even Bendis.

Part of me wants to just say screw it, and get it so Dusty can drive around in it lol

With the excellent looking IW figures due later this year I was hoping Salamanders will use these molds for their own 30k figures. Then I remembered the salamanders from this particular set are the Saturnine Terms and dreads and I’m like oh I’m going to be so poor (more poor) if they release those.

well leaving the 2nd week of yo joe June without any preorders, which isn’t necessarily bad lol, but also feeling a bit underwhelmed. hope next week has a bit more zing

The only thing that tempts me today for preorders is the Vamp mkii But I must resist cause I really don’t need a 3rd version of this vehicle lol Potentially if the tigerforce version comes out and has the new missile launcher. What I do wish is that they make an upgrade kit for the original Vamp.

The renders look awesome. I will probably get both of these. I don’t know why but I had thought the avalanche rescue would be white lol 😅

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the toon colors from pictures but they’re quite nice.

It took a minute to find him in the giant mess my hobby room currently is, but here’s the craftsman toy Nosecone to compare. I think Craftsman did a great job on their set. But MS version will end up being close to toon perfection if that’s what you’re after

One of the slightly tiresome repeating story lines, particularly in modern Iron man, is Tony having to rebuild his company. so he’s “struggling” to get the new company going etc but also still owns and operates Avengers tower lol

Fresh on the heels of siege Tony and Thor effectively make up to a certain extent.

3 more preorders tomorrow, curious if I will be getting all three or none lol

Tony really only gets in the game in issue 3 but he makes up for it in issue 4. Fantastic lol

The nice thing about the hiya toys figures is while a bit bigger, they do still fit in the original vehicles .

As you know I quite enjoy the underwater themes for figures across all my hobbies. But my favourite might be Cobras wacky fleet of underwater tanks lol I would love to someday own a hammerhead in particular. It’s on the list of dream toys from my protoform days.
