Today we were wrapping up a case study of a patient that was sick and got better. Main point was to see that space in the gut Microbiome was not good since it allows bacteria and easier path to grow and colonize. #teach180 #edusky

Day six - spent time working in a lab writing up, learning ten new prefix and suffixes, listening to our guidance counselor. #teach180 #edusky

We did our first lab report. I gave everyone a 10/10 for doing it in the grade book but graded it with feedback on how it improve it as if it was a summative grade. Plan is to give them back, review and revise them. Eventually I want each kid to have one they can reference as an example. #edusky

Got my desks labeled with a seating chart today. I keep them in alphabetical order for a couple weeks so I can learn their names. Then we start working on groupings that are the most effective. #edusky

Maine lighthouses

Maine is stunning.

Wife and I are heading to Maine tomorrow for a vacation. I can’t wait to see a moose!!

Just finished year 26 of teaching and my wife just finished year 31. We are closing in on the end of our careers but still excited about what we teach.

Today at school: 1. A student made me a coaster for my house and it is adorable. 2. A former student found me after school to tell me he now has all A’s and a B and wants to be a firefighter. It was a good day.

We got a new class pet Friday of last week. The students voted on a name today. Please say hi to Derrick the Dino.
