I feel like one of the problems with telling people to “believe women” is that it assumes the folks in need of telling already possess a baseline belief that women are people

Hard to believe that we're 1 week away from November. I don't understand how or why time is flying in this way.

This is Dumbo, Mela, Peaches, and Chiquis. They are a championship napping team. Their built-in sleep masks give them that competitive edge. 13/10 for all (TT: brokeboilopez)

Last week, Boston received a letter from AG Bondi threatening to prosecute officials and withhold funds unless we cooperate with carrying out mass deportations. The US Attorney General asked for a response by today, so here it is: stop attacking our cities to hide your administration’s failures.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about this fascinating exchange Colbert had with Dua Lipa, when she asked him about the role his faith plays in his comedy.

I need people to understand the Supreme Court is not the be-all and end-all of everything, even legal things. Abolitionist lawyers went into court and won freedom suits under the Fugitive Slave Act, after the Court upheld its constitutionality. They helped build a movement that dismantled the FSA.

Barbara Marx Hubbard says that our task is “to hospice what’s dying and midwife what’s being born.” There’s a lot to do and a lot to grieve and a lot to organize against and there’s also living to do and beauty to behold. - from me:

Talked to so many people who were at the first protests of their lives today. Ex-Republicans, introverts, 90-year-olds and 3-year-olds. This was at an intersection in a 60,000 person town. Haven’t felt hope like this in my life.

“Libraries are a cornerstone of democracy—where information is free and equally available to everyone. People tend to take that for granted, and they don’t realize what is at stake when that is put at risk.” - Dr. Carla Hayden This is a Dr. Hayden appreciation post.

A couple of next-morning thoughts on this. First, to say the Trump admin picked a Palestinian activist because he would split the opposition isn't crediting them with seven-dimensional chess. It's just "use unpopular tactics against unpopular people before you use them against popular people."

Figured I would put this out there. TransGENIC mice are NOT TransGENDER mice. TransGENIC refers to an organism or cell whose genome has been genetically altered. We use them to model human diseases & develop new treatments. This is yet another attempt to push anti-trans & anti-science rhetoric.

💉🧵The trend to ban mRNA vaccines is extremely concerning. Montana recently voted down a ban and Idaho is introducing a bill to criminalize their use. mRNA vaccines have been studied since 1990 and are a critical scientific advancement. An mRNA vaccine against pancreatic cancer is in clinical trials
