Brisk walk, with company. This cat ran up to me meowing on the river access path. Would not stop crossing back and forth in front of my ankles. More in Alt text. Also, the river was shining in the sunshine.

This looked like a recipe for disaster, but the boy is not as brave as he thinks he is. Once I started putting the pieces together he watched from a 'safe' distance. Little greenhouse, ready to go! I need four cheap stakes for the corners, to tie it to the ground. See Alt text for ideas!

Our mild winter has taken a cold and foggy turn, but it's not ice or snow, so I'll take it. I almost forgot my walk today, left near 1:30pm and this is what I found. Fog was much denser earlier, and colder.

Late morning walk. Brisk, but sunny. Spotted this egret fishing near a footbridge. It caught something small while I watched.

Spencer had rolled onto his back in his basket, so I tossed a pipe cleaner coil into his lap. Four stages of dismantling it! Blurry stages 'cause his basket is kinda in the dark.

Slightly different view, this time from the sidewalk. I foolishly went out without adequate clothing for the cold temp, and wind, so I just hustled along the sidewalk to make short work of the exercise time.

Trouble ahead! Spotted sprouts from seeds I planted 3 days ago that were supposed to take 8-9 days to germinate. I hadn't prepared for the lights yet but had to make haste. Troublemaker waiting for his turn when I'm not around. Kale and lettuce sprouts. #Garden

Part of the new toy I got today, and a good illustration of the inherent problems it's going to cause with Spencer. Fortunately I don't need the lights until I get sprouts, and I'll find some cat-friendly way to make them less appealing. I hope. These two are spinach, and there are 3 more.

Long day and I'm tired, but in a good way. Over 7000 steps so far, and that's a lot for me these days. Laundry, early walk, shopping, hauling a heavy bag of steer manure to my garden bed and spreading it .... got a lot done and more to do tomorrow when I have a new 'toy' arriving for seed starting.

Lots of lazy laptime today, for both of us. It’s been a long couple of weeks.

Very early morning walk around. The moon drew me out, of course, but none of my pics showed more than a glow. At least exposure is correct now, so there's that! Luckily there was a rainbreak so I could get out.

I don't know about you, but I need a little young Spencer silliness for this #Caturday. He still likes to attack that blue whale every now and then. He tried so hard to get it inside the tunnel!

I found myself with an itch to illustrate the sunset of 2025 with some of my favorite sunset photos, so of course that's what I did. Point Richmond, CA, Newport Beach, CA, near Gold Beach, OR, and Napa, CA.

He had a begging look until I picked up the phone. Has been begging since breakfast an hour ago. Not what he thinks he’s going to get! If you don’t hear from me you’ll know his murderous intent succeeded.

Cat care chores! Weekly water fountain cleaning, and finally a little surgery on a couple of mice with split bellies. They have been in my desk drawer for many months and he always wants them when he sees them. After they were sewed up, ho-hum.

A few more from this morning. Just as we reached the other side of the ponds I heard a whining motor sort of sound and looked up, saw 'something' flying from a low point up behind the trees and then disappearing. My friend didn't hear or see it, and seemed doubtful about my report. Probably a drone.
