Murmur, the band’s debut studio album, was released 43 years ago on April 12, 1983. Produced by Mitch Easter & Don Dixon, Murmur remains, according to music journalist Tim Peacock, “one of the most compelling and otherworldly debut albums in rock history.” Share your Murmur memories in the comments.

Evictions are up (over 60% in March), and the only reason the eviction rate wasn’t even higher was because of massive mutual aid efforts across the city. We still have a gap of $13,000. Please share our gofundme widely and please donate again, if you can. 💵 🌼 🥰 🏠

For February I'm reading Moderan, a collection of short stories by David R. Bunch. I have never seen such an absurdist take on the dystopian genre. Usually there is some amount of giving the devil his due, the power and technological force of the oppressors are depicted as serious and foreboding.

I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.
